Shane Allen a former member of The Makeshift is putting off the band life for the moment and diving into being a solo artist. Allen started a project of his own in early 2015 after graduating college and making the decision to become a full-time musician. Though Allen is taking on being a solo artist he is hoping his latest EP Life is a Dream will give him a voice of his own that will open a few doors, allowing him to work with other musicians whether it be directly or indirectly - SCENE SC
Singer/songwriter Shane Allen paints an uplifting picture of vitality with his track “Life is a Dream.” Largely concerned with clever lyricism to tell his story, Allen takes the jangly edge of rock, anecdotal qualities of folk, and the homespun zest for life akin to Americana to craft his trademark sound. His number one goal is relatability, using clear-cut imagery and narrative to bridge the gap between listener and artist. “Life is a Dream” comes straight from Shane Allen’s debut EP under the same name that was released this summer. Shane Allen is an American singer/songwriter and guitarist. Fascinated with a good lyric, Shane tends to take his time laying out a storyline while wrapping his words in a popular song format that's easily approachable to his listeners. He aims to blend the thought provoking storytelling of artists like Jason Isbell, Glen Hansard, and Connor Oberst with the musicality of Wilco, Tom Petty, War on Drugs, Ryan Adams, and Blake Mills.
Shane's long-awaited debut EP produced by Matthew Kilby and Charlie Kendall is out now on iTunes, Spotify and many other music distributors.
