"Tell us about Baton Rouge.
Baton Rouge is exactly what you think and exactly what you wouldn’t expect it to be if that makes since. It’s the birthplace of Louisiana gangsta rap legends like Boosie, Webbie, C-Loc, Max Manelli (who is about to retire from the mic after years of putting BR on the map), Kevin Gates and more. That’s the gangster side of the music scene. On the other side you got artists that make a different, more lifestyle-driven sound that the masses who enjoy Baton Rouge music wouldn’t expect. Thankfully artists like myself, Bullet Jones, DQ Rogers, Caleb Brown, John Anthony, L.Franchise (just to name a few) are able to find new and innovative ways to stick out on the underground scene. But in a nutshell it’s like any other city in the South. You have your clean-cut cleaner side which is South BR (LSU area)..And you got the ‘hood’ which is North BR (Southern University)… we all know it’s no secret why which schools are on which sides but it is what it is ." - evanbculture

{Taking classic clips from the famous film “Paid in Full” the video takes audiences through a calm, laid back, and realistic journey through an everyday reality for friends sharing their ideals in a casino setting. When expressing the initial concept for the visual, Sean says, “I feel the song is an introduction of myself. I consider myself different from a lot of artist from Baton Rouge and I’m not exactly what people initially expect from a Baton Rouge native. With this video, I played on a few of my favorite things. “Paid in Full” is my favorite movie and the casino is a place that many people can relate to. Once we thought of taking the casino setting and mixing it with clips from the actual movie, we were set. That collaboration was the best concept for the visual all together so we decided to just run with it.”} - Tubbi
{This project has been on and off my playlist since I was granted the opportunity to get my hands on a private link to review it! Getting to this project kind of late, I wanted to give it my full attention for the purpose of creative criticism. The Baton Rouge producer/ hip hop artists officially debuted his project “Preface” on December 22, 2017 at 12:00 midnight. It consist of seven well recorded tracks, two live show mixes, and a local interview. The project plays for the duration of thirty-six minutes and thirty- five seconds exactly. It has a very calm, laid back, stoner’s vibe. It has a cool 90’s hip-hop aura filled with storytelling, personal experiences, and some light double entendre. It is interesting, poetic, and filled with creative lyrics that will make for one chilled out summer that includes rolling in the drop top with friends.} - Tubbi

{How did you get up with Big Sant? How do you guys write songs together? What’s your process?
I first got introduced to Sant About 10 years ago the same way a lot of folks did..the big homie Big K.R.I.T. ‘s early projects. His sound just embodied that country rap tunes vibe so when it was time to do Big Boy he stuck out for me as a possible feature. I reached out and we got it done but we actually weren’t together when the record was done; he sent his verse to me. We actually didn’t meet face to face until a few months later when he, his manager Shila, and the legend Fiend/International Jones pulled up to the video shoot. Needless to say that’s a day I’ll never forget.} - Pharoah Po
