“To me “Calculating the Sum of Your Life” is a monumental concept record or a thinking man’s journey if you will with so many musical and spiritual layers it should be heralded as a gem.” Jennifer Pospisil/Indie Artists Alliance

“This band’s sound is so much more than the sum of its parts. This is not Earth-shattering in terms of what they are doing. It is quite impressive in terms of how it connects on a deep emotional level. That’s the real magic here.” 9.5/10 Stars/Mary Angela Tobin/Digital Radio Network

Working with Save the Radio has been a successful venture for my clients and my agency. With over a decade in the talent booking business, having a band that provides me with repeat bookings is the bottomline. No matter where they are placed, everyone wants return dates and that is good for all of us! Musically, they are a cut above. Professionally, they take their careers seriously and the music they create, from cover songs to original material, seems to hit home with all demographics. What more can an agent ask for?

Artist of the day: Save the Radio
Tampa bar and party band Save the Radio are busy guys. In addition to regular gigs at venues like the Dubliner in SoHo and the Green Iguana on West Shore, they often perform a mix of covers and originals at special events like Gasparilla, Guavaween and events outside the St. Pete Times Forum. When the Super Bowl came to town, they played an acoustic set alongside 3 Doors Down at the Bud Bowl at Channelside.
The band -- singer Shawn Scheller, guitarist Michael MacKewice, bassist Michael J. Marino and drummer Tony Rook -- has been together since 2007, but they've been a part of the Tampa Bay music scene since long before that. Scheller, for one, used to be in Fore and Honeyweed.
This summer, the band released their debut self-titled EP, and are working on a full-length. On Saturday, you can catch Save the Radio at the Dubliner SoHo at 10 p.m. Saturday. But several times a week, they're almost always playing somewhere.

Bio
“Save The Radio, a Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida based modern rock band has been drawing industry comparisons to such power pop, rock and hot a.c. acts as Butch Walker/Marvelous 3, Seether and Switchfoot .
Mixing the neo-Motown vocals of a Gavin Degraw or New Radicals, post-punk soundscapes of Cheap Trick and the raw grit power-rock of say, Foo Fighters, Save The Radio bring a driving spirit and synergy to their radio-friendly rock side while exposing a soulful, melancholy bliss to their vulnerable alter-ego. Behind the veil of thought provoking lyrics, instantly memorable guitar melodies, the layers of beauty provided by bassist/multi-intrumentalist Joe Cosas and the EXPLOSIVE drumming of TL Jentgens, Michael MacKewice and Shawn Scheller’s cascading harmonies transcend to remind us that what matters most about music is quite simply, how it makes you feel.” -The Indie Spirit-
In May 2013, Save The Radio was signed to a 5 song EP with TazBull Records. Their New Single “Add It Up” was delivered to radio in January, 2014 and peaked at #37 in April on the Billboard Indicator Charts receiving airplay in over 25 markets.
