I didn’t want to post this @SassySingz project until I gave it a full listen. Off the rip, the intro was a strong and extremely accurate introduction to this project. (I don’t even like referring to this as a mixtape.) Sassy definitely proved that R&B isn’t dead and she delivered that grade A 90s feel that’s been missing since a lot of music is microwaved nowadays. It’s not every day that I get chills when listening to somebody sing. I got chills listening to almost every EVERY SONG! This is that R&B music that you really feel and will relate to, especially if you’re a woman. My favorites have to be “Maybach Miami”, “The Game” featuring Killah Trakz, “Going Crazy” featuring Vulcha Smooth, “I Wonder” featuring Golden, and “Ultimate Fear”. “Ultimate Fear” hit home and actually had me teary eyed. Play this at high volumes through your speakers in your car, phone, ipod, whatever. A must listen and one of the better projects I’ve heard from an independent R&B artist from South Florida. You will not be disappointed. Sassy Singz is definitely The Threat to you girls acting like you can sing with help of a lot of studio twerking. Rhythm and Blues. This is what R&B music really is - Napps

SassySingz is a star on the rise. There is no denying her love for music, more preferably R&B soul & Hip Hop R&B. Influenced by Mary J. Blige’s rise to success as the Queen of Hip Hop Soul, Sassy has been gracing the stage with her melodic vocals any and everywhere she can. From the back ends of USA Flea market in liberty city, to the grand stage of FIU ‘s Spring Bling, Sassy has been singing her heart out. This has allowed her to open up for artists such as, Black Dada, JayR and Mr. Birthday Sex himself, Jeremiah.

SassySingz’ has been writing and producing her own music since 2001 and this has opened many doors for the gifted singer. She had the privilege of being flown to Europe to sing at Edson Brahhfield’s wedding, World Cup 2010 finalist from the Netherlands soccer team. She was co-host of “The Hip Hop Soul Lounge” radio show on 105.5 fm for its first season on the air. The show allowed Sassy to explore a different side of music which fueled her drive to not only become the best R&B soul singer but to help fellow artists do the same. With the initiation of Feline Royale Entertainment, alongside business partner, manager & friend, Jesseca Brun, SassySingz has launched her own label geared toward showing “Nothing But Love” in hopes to unite fellow artists and help them in their pursuit of their musical careers.

Sassy’s tenacious attitude and melodic vocals landed her a position as a finalist in the Budweiser Superfest Contest entitled “Battle of The Crown” sponsored by 99 jamz. With her soulful vocals and jaw dropping talent, she won runner up at the battle; A memorable moment for SassySingz’ musical journey. Shortly thereafter, she opened up for Kindred: The Family Soul and sang background for them at Sataoro's in Hollywood, Florida. But this is only the beginning for Sassy as she continues to make her way to the top to make her dreams come true. She has been recognized as City of Miami Gardens 2011 Breakout Artist. There is no doubt that you will continue to hear more from Sassy, as she “Singz”.

"Sassy Singz – is Ready to take “Control”"

First thought – Wow! This chick has a Voice! Second thought – Damn! This chick has a VOICE!

Sassy Singz starts off “Control” with a pounding – and I mean pounding – kick drum that holds the rhythm for this track and is guaranteed to rattle car parts right off all over the nation. Then she brings in this fantastic voice with a cool stutter effect in the opening lyrics that grab your head for a spin, right off!

Gal’s voice is Hot and that makes it perfect for the somewhat taboo subjects in “Control.” Somewhere between, enuendo and bold-face-type is a fine line and she straddles it perfectly. Good gosh a’mighty! She’s got control of this one, no matter how you mean it!

She really got my attention with this one so I thought we should get to know a bit more about her. When I got to her site (click the picture) I found the best Michael Brown inspired song I’ve heard yet in “Why.” Check it out and our fun interview after you watch the video.

Award Winning Miami-based Singer/Songwriter SassySingz flaunts powerhouse vocals and highly sought after songwriting skills. In a time when studio produced talent runs rampant, SassySingz represents unquestionable talent. Influenced by artists such as Chaka Khan, Shirley Caesar, Karen Clarke Sears and Gladys Knight, SassySingz seduces the audience with an authentic, captivating R&B sound that true music lovers have come to miss. Her range combined with relatable lyrics and soulful sounds draws listeners into a world of bliss.

How long have you been in the music game?
– I have been singing professionally as SassySingz since 2010.I don’t watch MTV tell me about the On The Rise thing, what is that?
– MTV on the rise is for artists that MTV feels will be the next big thing. My music video control was submitted to them and I was chosen for this category.

You’re trying to get featured there, what does that involve? How is it going?
– I’m trying to get my music video on regular rotation but it all depends on votes from the MTV2ontherise.com site. So far I have made it level 2 with over 5k votes. I need 25k votes to get to the final level.

Where do you come from?
– I am born and raised in MIami, Florida.

What’s your favorite thing about Miami?
– Hmmm…never been asked that before lol. My favorite thing about Miami would probably be the beach. I love to sit in the sand and just meditate in the sun.

What would you change?
– There’s so much going in Miami…I honestly don’t know what I would change lol.

I love plain, regular chocolate ice cream, what’s your favorite flavor?
– LOL! Ice cream…I don’t eat it much but when I do I like plain vanilla. Maybe cookie and cream if I’m in the mood for some flavor.

Which musician inspired you to sing, first?
– The first musician to inspire me musically is Mary J. Blige. I’ve always loved Hip Hop and R&B but I didn’t know about the fusing the sound until I heard “All I need” by Method Man ft. Mary J. When i heard that in middle school, I was like, “YES! That’s what I wanna do if I ever get a chance to sing.”

If you could perform with One favorite musician, who would it be? Why?
– Oooohh….hard question but i’d have to say Missy Elliott. I OVER love her! She’s the one that influence my songwriting. I studied her intensely for years. I would love to perform and write a song with her.

What was the best thing your parents taught you when they didn’t realize they were teaching?
– Discipline. My mom passed away when I was four so I was raised by my father. He was SUPER strict lol. I hated it. Felt like I couldn’t live my own life but now that I’m older, I realize his structure and discipline helped mold me into the hard working and self motivated woman I have become.

What’s next for you in your musical journey?
– What’s next, is a promotional tour! My music is now on Pandora, iTunes Radio and Spotify. I’m getting FM radio play in some states and even overseas. So after all these years of building my brand and music catalogue, its time to hit the road and meet #TeamSassySingz I’m excited! Tour dates will be coming in the new year - by C Bret Campbell December 14, 2014 1:02 pm

"When Sassy Singz, The Whole World Listens: An Interview"

Sassy Singz has got some smokey vocals. Want to know how smokey? When she sings her song “Control”, she brings to mind records by 1990s and early 2000s R&B artists and groups like Sparkle, Mokensteph, Xscape, Monica, and Kelly Price.

Sassy Singz, however, appears to have some major edge to her, judging from her flashy mohawk and intricate zig-zag hair designs. The singer-songwriter is all about her music, but she isn’t about to neglect the visual appeal part.

She’s what an observer would call an organic singer. During a stop at Atlanta Web Radio, at the prodding of her interviewer, Sassy starts to belt out some of the verses of the Shirley Murdock classic “As We Lay”, and kills it. Her a capella delivery makes you wish this was a full cover, as opposed to her just singing some snippets.

“What Do I Do?” one of her self-written songs tells the story of a distraught woman who’s on the verge of a breakdown over a dysfunctional relationship. She’s a victim of verbal abuse, and she’s come to realize that the man she loves is out to hurt her, but can she forget all the great moments? The song features the dynamic rhymes of rapper Jimmy Dade.

The singer-songwriter has opened up for Trina and Marsha Ambrosius. But one day, look for her as the headliner.

Lots of singers had their beginning in church, was that the case with you?

In all honesty, that is the way I started literally. I’m not one of those singers who have been singing since five, and always knew she’d be a star. [Laughter] My story is quite the opposite. The first time I ever sang in front of an audience live, was at church and that was in my early twenties. I was terrified.

And how did you manage to calm down your nerves?

[Laughter] I prayed. Before every performance, I pray.

Who was the first person who made you realize that you could sing?

I always knew I could hold a note but it wasn’t until my a friend of my boyfriend (at the time) asked me to join the worship team, did I realize I could sing. I never really thought much about being an artist honestly but the church members would encourage me all the time [Laughter]. So I took a step of faith and here I am.

The artist Michael Jackson always professed to admire Stevie Wonder and Jackie Wilson. Which artists have personally inspired you?

I have so many artists that I look up to but I must admit Mary J. Blige has been my biggest influence. I always loved her unique ability to transform a hip hop beat to a love song. If I had to describe my sound, I would say it’s a clash of Mary J. Blige and Chaka Khan. I study all genres for inspiration but R&B is where my passion lies. Faith Evans, Missy Elliott, Patti Labelle are a few that inspire me and my music.

Have you ever hurt your vocals?

Oh yes, I have. But, thankfully not permanently. I’ve never had a vocal lesson before so in the beginning I didn’t know how to sing properly without hurting my vocals. But I taught myself—YouTube—[Laughter]. And now, I work hard to avoid that happening again.

That’s great…What are your parents’ thoughts regarding your musical career?

My mother passed when I was four and my father passed in 2012. Prior to my father’s passing, I told him about my music endeavors and he didn’t believe me at first [Laughter]. I performed at Barry University once—think it was 2011—and I invited him to see me perform. He was soooo proud! It’s a memory I hold dear because it was the first and last time he saw me perform. He would take my CDs to Haiti and pass them out for me. He called the family to tell them, “Non, nou gen atis! [We’ve got artists]” [Laughter]. I miss him.

So sorry that you have lost both of your parents. Now, in terms of performances you’ve had thus far, which has been the most memorable, in terms of how personally satisfied you were regarding your performance?

The most memorable performance for me was a concert I recently did with Bank of America. Bank of America 36th Annual Starlight Musicals. I had such an amazing time! It was a 3 hour event with only me as the entertainer and live band. The crowd participation is what made the event so memorable. It was aOn outdoor event at a park but the crowd and I were having such a good time I almost forgot we were outside and not at a club lol. It’s one thing to sing to people, it’s a whole other thing when they participate and jam with you. Loved it!

When was the last time you went to Haiti?

My last trip to Haiti was in 2012. Sadly, it would be the last time I saw my father alive. He suffered a stroke while working in the fields. I am a Registered Nurse, so I flew in to tend to him for about a week before he passed.

What are we to expect from you musically in times to come? That voice of course, but in terms of an album, what…and when?

I’[ve] re-released my last EP, The Revival: R&B Is Not Dead (Remastered). I will also be releasing my new music video for my current single “Control”. “Control” is #6 on the National Airplay Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop charts so you can expect a whole new album in 2015!

Award winning Songstress SassySingz releases her new R&B single, Late Night, on November xx, 2014, in time for the holiday season. Late Night is a sultry, melodic R&B tune reminiscent of the rich 90s’ sound. The opening beat is captivating with a suspenseful twist hinting that a deep, dark secret is about to unfold. It segues into SassySingz’s lyrics that relate to the late night struggles, the loneliest moments people go through. Perfectly wrapped in the soulful melody and the sultry vocals of SassySingz is the personal message to her listeners:

I understand what you are going through. You’re not alone; it is okay to ask for help.

Experiencing late nights of her own, SassySingz was inspired to write this song after a long, unpleasant day. Arriving home at 1:00am, she had no one to call, no one to express her frustration to.

“It’s at night time when no one is around that the feelings get the most overwhelming,” says SassySingz.

She awoke the next morning to hear of Robin Williams’ passing. Devastated by the news of someone she admired and respected, SassySingz decided to be transparent through her music setting the example of acknowledging what many undergo. Her story is an example that others can press through to their joy.

Although it should be a joyous time, the holiday season ignites depression in some people. The release of Late Night is dedicated to those who experience the holiday blues, general depression throughout the year, or even occasional overwhelming moments.

“During this holiday season, I want people to know that someone knows how they feel. I want this to be a beacon of light for those struggling,” says SassySingz.

The message is bold but the quality of music and entertainment will leave you wanting more. Rich melodies, strong vocals, and easy listening will take this to the top of the charts. Expect Late Night to hit the charts the same as Control, which peaked at #6 on the National Airplay Top 50 R&B/Hip Hop Charts and catapulted her to #10 on the National Airplay Top 50 Independent Artist Charts.

Late Night will be in rotation on all major radio stations, college stations, international entertainment sites and more. Upon release, it will be available where all digital music is sold including iTunes and Amazon.com.

SassySingz’s new single, Control, is making its rounds on music charts nationally and internationally. You had better go and see SassySingz before she gets too renown and expensive. She most recently won Best Female R&B artist of 2012 at the Best in Florida Awards.
