Ryan Gregory Floyd

Hailing from the mountains of Central Oregon, Ryan began his musical journey by setting out for New Orleans at the age of seventeen to learn from his heroes. His songwriting apprenticeship continued over the next 12 years, informed by his experiences living in New Orleans, Washington DC, Italy and Greece.

Through a series of epic affairs Ryan gained an abiding sense of love and loss. While working a gamut of jobs he learned about life and the travails of the working class. From laying concrete to renovating houses, serving fine Italian cuisine to working non-profits, from teaching to playing dingy bars and coffeehouses, Ryan gained a sense of deep compassion for the neglected many who make the world work. 

In 2013 Ryan released his first EP (Sara), a collection of mysterious, lo-fi folk songs recorded with a single stereo mic in an abandoned haunted house in New Orleans. 2014 showcased Ryan's prolific songwriting ability, with two LPs and one EP (Of Muses And Men, Hekatombaion, Equinox) and a new live album (Live at the Hi-Ho 2015) in early 2015. 

Ryan's lifelong immersion in literature and poetry permeates his music, rich in lyrical imagery and engaging narrative, at times raw and honest, at others detached and satirical.
