"...a newcomer to our night named Ruby Ross follows up with a heart-ache love song about love lost and travels, and then shows off her versatility a bit by putting down the guitar and playing a gentle piano ballad for song #2. Brand new to town, Ruby is great and she is one of those musicians I encourage to please keep coming back to our show." - The Backstage Beat (August 10, 2011)
"Emotional and unpretentious vocals showcase her Appalachian roots, and NOLA jazz influences her folksy acoustic Americana on tunes that recall feminine folk icons like Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez." - C-VILLE Weekly (Dec. 27, 2013)

Bio
Ruby Ross is a New Orleans-based singer-songwriter whose writing and vocal style draw heavily on her Appalachian Virginia roots. With "emotional and unpretentious vocals" and "tunes that recall feminine folk icons like Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez" (C-VILLE Weekly), Ross crafts poignant stories of life, longing and love, set to melodies that refuse to leave your head.
With the release of her EP Solid Ground and inclusion of her song "Night's Lullaby" on Buffa's Lounge's Live From the Back Room, Vol. 1: And so It Begins (a live-recorded New Orleans songwriter compilation CD) in October 2013, and a first place win at the Bay Saint Louis ArtsAlive Singer-Songwriter Showcase in March 2014, Ross is emerging as a fresh new face in Americana folk music that you don't want to miss.
