Bio
Roadside Glorious is a blues rock/southern rock band from New Orleans. Consisting of
founding members Basch Jernigan (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Evan Hall (Lead Guitar),
Aydan Closson (Drums), and Tyler Self (Bass), each member’s southern upbringing can
be detected in the band’s sound – a fusion of gritty soul, rock, and blues. The band’s
sound can best be compared to the Allman Brothers Band and the Black Crowes.
Known for their high octane performances, strong songwriting, and friendly demeanor,
this is a band that is well-liked by fans and quickly on the rise.
The band’s inception occurred when Basch and Evan met one another while taking the
same Music Industry course at Loyola University in New Orleans in spring of 2016. After
playing music with one another - and upon realizing that they shared the same musical
interests, desire to start a new project, and vision for the band they wanted - they
recruited friends, and experienced and accomplished musicians, Aydan Closson and
Tyler Self to start a new project.
Aydan went to high school with Basch in Gulf Shores, AL (2010-2012). While there, the
two were in a blues rock trio together called Katawompus that had significant success in
the area, most notably winning the John Lennon Bus Battle of the Bands competition in
2011 and playing at the 2011 Hangout Music Festival. After Basch left to attend Tulane
University after graduating in 2012, Aydan spent the next three years playing and
touring with multiple bands in southern Alabama.
Tyler and Evan met while attending middle school in Belle Chase, LA. Tyler attended
New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) for high school, where he began
studying music and playing bass. He played bass for multiple bands in New Orleans
during this time, before graduating and attending Loyola University New Orleans to
continue his music studies.
Throughout the years, Evan and Tyler met consistently to write music together despite
being involved in separate projects of their own. After graduating from high school in
2011, Evan - a gifted and experienced bass player (in addition to guitar) - played bass
for a number of well-known and highly respected bands and musicians in the New
Orleans area. These bands and musicians include FlowTribe, Big Chief Alfred Doucette,
and Denton Hatcher, among others. After meeting Basch at Loyola in 2016, when Evan
decided to continue his studies, he joined Basch’s band at the time called Low Flying
Buzzards on guitar for a number of gigs in early 2016, including Crawfest at Tulane
University.
With the combined experience between all four members, this band is mature beyond
its years and capable of doing big things. Already writing, recording, and playing shows
at a relentless pace, the future looks Glorious for this band.
