They Rock!” … Tri-State Casino Marketing Coordinator: “You guys are Awesome! You are exactly what we want! Great music... the way you interacted with the crowd was perfect!” … Zanesville, OH: “River Towne is the best band I've seen in 12 years… You are awesome!” ... Columbus, OH: “The best band we’ve ever had. You’re the only band that’s ever asked to let you know if it’s too loud, or not loud enough. Most bands just come in and blow your head off.” … Clarksburg, WV: “I know you guys always draw a great crowd.” … Chillicothe, OH: “I have only heard great comments about you since Saturday night! You guys did great! Can’t wait to get you back again!” … Marietta, OH: “You guys do current songs I hear on the radio” … “You guys sounded GREAT! Harmonies, good tunes, and smiles! Bio

Lisa began singing in church when she was three years old sitting next to her grandmother on the piano bench singing “I'll Fly Away” and “Amazing Grace”. Grandma seemed to know the words to every song in the world, and had a knack of being able to play a song after hearing it just one time. She passed on to Lisa a natural ability, and love of music that few seem to truly understand.
At the age of six, Lisa won her first elementary school talent show singing “Grandmas Rocking Chair”. Lisa kept performing in talent shows across the state, and at the age of twelve, received the title of Miss Dreamworld, Ohio.
When Lisa was fifteen, her mother heard a neighbor playing bass guitar in his backyard. They discovered that he had a band called Audience, and in December of 1989 Ted Williams asked Lisa to begin performing full time with his band.
Ted and Lisa realized immediately what a great combination they brought to the stage. Both were extremely talented, highly energetic, and driven to perform. As they began to work more closely, Lisa realized she was working with the best friend she had ever known. After performing together for six years, they knew their relationship was a special one, and on December 24, 1995, they exchanged wedding vows.
In 1996, after years of working with various musicians, locally and on the road, Ted and Lisa began to travel across the United States performing as a duo. River Towne Band was formed in the spring of 2006 with two local musicians that have been friends for many years. The band was formed as a means to perform original songs to a potentially much larger audience.
Having been referred to as the “Pat Benatar of Country Music”, Lisa offers up a strong, distinct vocal ability that sets her apart from others. Lisa is well known for her strong song writing ability, and has recorded several original songs in various studios across the states. She enjoys writing inspiring and uplifting songs that help to encourage people in their everyday struggles. Lisa strives to make each performance one you will not easily forget!
Ted grew up learning about the exploits of his very talented family. He remembers being shown pictures of a relative christening a ship during World War II. One great uncle handcrafted fiddles and published many gospel songs. Great uncle Stan O’Dell was a signed recording artist who had his own TV show.
Ted’s mother would pick up a guitar whenever the opportunity presented itself and always encouraged her children to pursue their musical careers. Terry, who was slightly older, began to learn guitar in elementary school. During high school, he found it troubling that there were no bass players to be found; therefore he decided that Ted would be the one to learn. Terry drew four straight lines on a sheet of notebook paper, labeled certain intervals with letters, and handed an old borrowed bass guitar to his younger brother.
Ted began with a hunger, and a strong desire to learn how to be the best. During high school, he joined the school band and gained statewide recognition for his talents. He graduated with music scholarships and a desire to be a band director; however, that was not to be. Terry introduced him to some musicians in nearby Parkersburg, West Virginia, and the decision was made to play full-time as a musician.
Ted traveled around the country in a band dedicated to playing English style rock-n-roll. The band stopped performing four and a half years later and Ted joined another local band that wanted to travel. Copperwine roamed all over the east coast and mid-western states playing good-time rock-n-roll and having a blast. Many times Ted’s playing ability was compared to the great Tim Boggert; whom he admired.
Later, Ted and a couple of friends formed a band called Audience; which, performed in the mid-Ohio valley area for several years, and was an entertaining platform for many area musicians.
Seventeen years ago, Ted was introduced to his neighbor, Lisa, and everything changed for the better. Not only did he find someone that shared the same music goals, but also someone with whom to share a lifetime. Ted has always enjoyed writing original material, but struggled with lyrics. His background and strength is in arranging, and he found the perfect partner in Lisa’s talented lyrics. Together, they make beautiful music for all to enjoy.
