Bio
Wesley “RichieWes” Lofton is an artist from the Westside of Chicago IL who in life promised himself one thing and that is success for he and anything associated with him with no ulterior motives. Growing up in inner city Chicago Richie says he was infected with the desire of hustle giving him an undeniable “whatever it takes” will to have better than what his environment had to offer. With this type of drive and hunger as a young child up into his teens Richie says he knew that it would take unrivaled work ethic to accomplish his goals. Attending middle school in west Chicago at Sumner Math and Science academy located in the K-Town community on 5th and Kostner Richie Excelled in academics and sociability. This trend followed him to high school at Prosser Career Academy located on Chicago’s North Westside. There he received His high school diploma in Business Product Marketing and Entrepreneurship. He always loved music but it was as a teen in high school where he found his love for the art form and culture of hip-hop/rap. Rapping was only a hobby until he attended Southern Illinois University in the fall of 2009. It was there he earned the name Richie through planning, marketing and even personally funding a number of parties and other successful social events. Hosting these events featuring the likes of Lil Durk (2012), King Louie (2013), Zmoney (2012/2013), and other notable Chicago artists is what ignited his love for the stage and the drive to create music with hopes to captivate an audience. This mixture of hustle and sociability is what Richie feels made Him a crowd pleaser at the university. Graduating May 2014 in Communications (Public Relations) and Marketing he cites the university as the place where he learned to capitalize on his strengths, and own up to his weaknesses but also make up for them. He takes this same approach with his music career. Richiewes creates music that illustrates his thoughts, desires and the will to go after them with no shame in owning up to failure because he learns from it. He looks to always represent that balance. The grit and rasp in his is voice leans towards influences Young Jeezy or a Yo Gotti but the ambition and delivery of his flow comes from influences such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, and 50 Cent, also with a touch of Gucci Mane's cocky flare to top it off. He views himself as a triangle because the shape has three points of emphasis as does Richie those three points are think, do, and reflect. Richiewes feels he is undeniable because no matter how much he fails, he demands success because he simply refuses to accept anything other. A collection of shameless thoughts, sacrifices, gains, and failures give you Richiewes.
