His current EP ‘The Pessimistic Troubadour’ is a display of all these traits. The name derives from a traveling music, Troubadour, and a characteristic that describes himself, Pessimistic. Though as bleak as it seems at first, the music has a light to it: an encouraging outlook toward societal problems, posing questions about life and how we live. Strater's 2014 EP "The Pessimistic Troubadour was recorded at Strawberry Skys Recording Studio in West Columbia,SC in July of 2014. Strawberry Skys produced Hootie and the Blowfish's debut album that rocketed them to stardom.
When Richard Strater isn't touring or recording new music, he likes to kick back with some popcorn and binge watch American Dad.
