"Live Show Review"

"Speaking of, local opening act Reverist also has good mass appeal, tons of it. Their incredibly likeable piano-propelled indie pop is aloft with soaring melodies and sweeping electronic sheen. It’s a suprisingly complete package for a duo that has songwriting fundamentals superior to many of their more popular contemporaries. And as this performance proved, their music can lift a room and get the bodies moving.

As if these achievements weren’t enough, Reverist is the brainchild and creative outlet of local medical doctor Omar Qazi. Most of us in the creative community have other day jobs and all, but damn. Anyone else feeling like a bit of a bum right about now?" - Orlando Weekly

"EP Review"

Often we are pushed or almost forced into careers in the daily workforce. This does not mean that the music inside of us dies. It just means it may take a little longer to get out. Our recent find Reverist is a great story of keeping the candle burning.

The project is the creation of Omar Qazi who happens to be a medical doctor. Years of schooling could not bury the dream of creating music. Omar’s soaring, catchy melodies combine with the infectious dance beats of Steve Addington and the powerful basslines of Matthew Walsh to form an indie pop sound that has been making waves. Reverist has been hitting their local Orlando, Florida scene hard and are about to start spreading their sound with an East Coast tour next year.

Their debut EP Dreaming Onward was released recently. The 5 track record shows pop sensibilities that could land Reverist a flock of fans. The lead single “Superhero” builds an anthemic background with sweet soaring vocals that fit well with the full palette of sound. There is a more rocking feel to “About The Past” as sweeping sounds show an energy that rises throughout with the use of different tones. There is a fun and elegant sound to “They Are Weak, But We Are Strong” that brought to mind classic Maroon 5 songs. This is a great start to the Reverist career and the pop music they aim to share with the world. Get on board now at: http://www.reveristmusic.com/ - Indie Band Guru

""Superhero" ReverbNation Crowd Review"

"I can definitely see myself hearing this song on the radio in the near future as something I would willingly listen to on a regular basis next to Florence and the Machine or Coldplay on my playlists."

"I believe if you get more air time, this song will hit nationwide." - ReverbNation

Bio

Reverist is an Orlando based alternative band that credits its humble origin to medical doctor Omar Qazi, but subsequently evolved into a fuller sound with the additions of drummer Steve Addington, bassist Matthew Walsh, and violinist Cooper Johansen.

The project began while Qazi was in undergrad where he was inspired by the band Keane and taught himself to play piano and guitar. Songwriting began as an accident for him initially, but ultimately progressed into a regular, creative release in his journey to becoming a medical doctor. Qazi looked to expand the project and met seasoned drummer Steve Addington, whose experience ranges from high school marching band to playing Top 40 hits alongside a DJ. The duo added the multi-talented Walsh and Johansen in late 2015 before recording their first EP, "Dreaming Onward," at Parafonic Recording Studio in Orlando, Florida.

With there being more genres under the sun than bands to play said genres, Reverist possesses an eclectic, unique sound with solid, rich vocals that bring a captivating essence among symphonic, scientific synth blends and engaging drum beats. The quartet adds a fresh feeling to the music scene—slightly left-field with a soothing, yet animated, presence that can appeal to almost any mood.

The group plans to expand their reach outside of Florida with an east coast US tour planned for summer 2016. Their quirky, lighthearted personalities shine on stage amidst their soaring choruses and eye grabbing light show. “Dreaming Onward” is now available at reverist.bandcamp.com and all major markets.
