Bio

Renn Loren & the Honky Tonk Surf Riders is a band with a blend of Hawaiian, Island Style, latin, Tex-Mex and country-rock into a highly party-ready, dance-friendly cocktail called Surf Beat Americana!! A rollicking sun-drenched blend of groovy, catchy songs built on classic rock foundations, country-rock, Island Style, tropical rock and warm region grooves.

Renn Loren is an accomplished Hawaiian born, multifaceted singer-songwriter whose tequila-soaked, sun-drenched rollicking Hawaiian-tinged country rock has been gaining ground and winning over audiences via the airwaves and their often highly charged live shows. A spicy repertoire of classic-sounding dance-ready and party-friendly Tex-Mex, Trop Rock and hot latin-flavored country rockin' songs. Renn Lorens' highly unique blend of styles and versatile voice are what sets him apart from the pack.

Thought former CBS/SONY recording artist Renn Loren is originally from Hawaii, he achieved most of his musical success in the improbably far off frozen northern climes of Norway, where, working with many of the most innovative and successful Norwegian and international artist and producers yielded great rewards. He also starred in the film North Star/Tashunga alongside Christopher Lambert, James Caan, Burt Young, Catherine McCormack, and Frank Grey Wolf Salsedo. His songs have been used in TV documentaries and films such as Hawaii, Oslo, and Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie film; Mr. 7 Mrs. Smith
A demo recording session for Warner Bros Nashville brought Renn and legendarily iconic producer Bill Halverson together for the first time back in 1990. And though it was a brief period; Bill remembered Renn's songs. Soon after, a series of projects took Renn back to Norway where he worked with various bands and artists

A tour of the Florida Keys began in Key West and ended in Galveston Texas. As a result, Renn's music was picked up by, Radio A1A, Pirate Radio 96.7/101.7 FM WKYZ, Key West and a whole host of Trop Rock radio stations throughout the U.S. Radio A1A, Key West, Pirate Radio 96.7/101.7 FM WKYZ, Key West, and a whole host of Trop Rock radio stations throughout the U.S.
Most recently airplay at the wind and solar powered KFMU, Steamboat Springs Colorado, and a writer's position at Lake Charles' most-read printed publication Lagniappe Magazine prompted Renn to seek a proper recording for some of his new songsRecalling the work he'd done with the Texas Tornados, the Mavericks, and Dwight Yoakam, Renn contacted Bill Halverson to produce the new album. Bill agreed, and the soon-to-be-released new album; Renn Loren & the Honky Tonk Surf Riders is the result.
Renn has played scores of venues, from pubs and clubs to stadiums - from Hawaii to California, Arizona, Colorado, Scandinavia, and Europe - sharing stages with Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Sheryl Crow, Tom Petty, the Gin Blossoms, A-Ha, the Go-Go's, and Rickie Lee Jones to name a few.
