First place in this week's World Music Video Chart is 'Know Its Real' by REDD ft AyHay!. REDD, from Detroit, Michigan has previously been in the charts with his hits 'I'm Me' and 'Rising Star' but has topped his own success by placing 1st this week. 'Know Its Real' proved just as popular as his previous songs, gaining a substantial 5100 views on BEAT100 and earning him a Gold Song, Gold Video and Gold Favourite Award to add to his growing collection of BEAT100 accolades. With a simple but effective video and REDD's confident delivery, 'Know Its Real' gets easily stuck in your head with a catchy beat that you find yourself humming hours after you have listened to the song. Having been involved with music from a young age, (playing drums in his first band in 5th grade) REDD, along with his bandmates at the time, signed a production deal while they were still in high school; performing as Suburban Syndicate with his high school friends introduced REDD to the world of music and performance and he still regularly collaborates with his former bandmates. Having a love for music and performance from his early years prepared REDD for shows as a solo artist, he tells BEAT100 'watching the people enjoy my music...the crowd is the greatest thing about performing'. REDD tells us that he gains inspiration for his lyrics from emotions that he personally goes through, and people that for better or worse have touched his life; he tries to inspire each listener with his words and tells us that it is important to him to keep himself and the listener on a positive vibe. Citing his influences as a variety of singers and performers ,from Eminem and Kendrick Lamar to Johnny Cash and John Lennon, REDD shows how this varied musical inspiration all comes together to create his unique and Original music, he tells us 'I love storytellers and artists who know how to develop themselves along with their careers'. At the moment REDD tells us that he has a ton of stuff going on, all to be announced soon. He says 'I have so much material that has yet to be released. I can't wait to show everyone.' He is currently shooting the videos for 'We Just Came To Ride' and '7 Seas', we can't wait to hear what is next from REDD and we are sure that we will see him in the charts again soon. - by BEAT100
Congratulations to Michigan rapper REDD, who has been named a BEAT100 Ultimate Musician! REDD, real name, Jeremy Stewart started his musical career, playing drums in 5th grade for his elementary school band. By age 13 his catalogue of early material included collaborations with fellow rappers Quicksta and LilMor. The boys began working together more and more, eventually forming Suburban Syndicate in which they all performed together. They signed a production deal while they were still in high school and critical acclaim in both Detroit and Nashville. Although now working singularly, the three still regularly collaborate.
REDD tells us that music has always been an outlet for him and that it is the reason that he is a level headed person because he can share all of his emotions, good and bad, through his music. He names his inspirations as John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Tech N9ne, Johnny Cash, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar; all of these influences can be heard in different factions of his music and such a varied musical inspirations lead to the truthful and heartfelt lyrics that make him so popular with his listeners.
REDD has become a firm favourite on BEAT100, winning many awards including Gold and Silver Video, Gold Favourite and Silver Song Awards. His original song 'Rising Star gained an impressive 6,800 views and reached 3rd place on the World Music Video Chart. Speaking of his BEAT100 experience REDD says 'BEAT100 is nothing but supportive...I am proud of every video I put up.'
REDD is currently performing and promoting his music, he tells us of his proudest achievement so far, 'The last year has been filled with epic moments...I have to chose the first time i went on stage as a solo artist. It was the first time I really brought in a crowd on my own.' Congratulations to REDD for his latest achievements; his current song 'I'm me' is currently at 42 in the charts and we can't wait to see how far he can go. - by BEAT100
“REDD REDD has become a firm favourite of the A&R team over the past year, impressing the staff with his catchy lyrics and addictive beats. Having climbed to the top 3 of the charts again just this week with brand new track ‘Decisions’, REDD is obviously favoured by the BEAT100 community who constantly vote his tracks into the Top 10 time and time again. ‘Decisions’ is REDD’s latest hit that has also secured him 3 Gold Awards and the top spot in the BEAT100 Music Audio Chart just a few weeks ago.”

REDD’s lyricism and technical ability is better than most you have ever heard during 2014!
At the age of 15, REDD (Jeremy Stewart) signed a production deal and began playing in the band Suburban Syndicate. Their album 82316, a Rap/Rock fusion, grabbed attention on the internet as well as leading to Suburban Syndicate playing the 2012 Rockstar Uproar Tour. However, the band suffered from issues with the musical genre change and member commitments. So early in 2013 they went on a hiatus.
REDD began working extensively on his solo music in 2013 recording in both Detroit and Nashville. He released his first mixtape in 2014 along with 6 videos for the release. REDD recently won the award for Ultimate Musician on beat100. Other accolades include being featured on Music Connects top 10 rappers to break out in 2014. REDD also toured in 2014 being featured at both Indie Xplosions A3C Fest and playing Indie Week in Toronto Canada.
Currently REDD is headed back into the studio with high caliber producers to gear up for a late winter 2015 album release. In the meantime his mixtape “Rising Star” is making waves on the indie circuit. For me REDD can be seen as one helluva hardcore lyricist. He can battle aggressively, inject humor into a song, tell stories, and make you think all at the same time with ease and gusto. And REDD displays all that and then some on this mixtape.
Straight off the blocks, songs like “Rising Star”, “Gotta Get Away”, “Walk Away”, “Blow Your Mind”, and “Know It’s Real ft. AyHay” are incredibly intoxicating with their beats that will immediately get your head nodding. REDD proceeds to rip through “7 Seas” before setting it off with the piano-driven “Just For Me”. - By: Rick Jamm
n third place this week is Ultimate Musician REDD! REDD has been in the charts numerous times this year and has now reached the Top 3 once again with the help of his newest track 'Decisions'. The Detroit based rapper is obviously a favourite in the BEAT100 community having received 1300 views for his winning track so far and 3 Gold Awards from the A&R team. 'Decisions' has been a hit for REDD having also seen him into the top spot of the Music Audio Chart in November. Recently REDD has been pouring all of his passion into his hectic performance schedule touring this fall. Having played at the Indie Xplosion/A3c festival in Atlanta, stopping in Nashville and Detroit, he then finished the tour at Indie Week in Toronto, Canada where he filmed much of the music video for recent chart topping track '7 Seas'. The talented musician utilises heartfelt lyrics and infectious hooks in all of his work to addict the listener right from the first beat. Speaking to BEAT100 about his inspirations during the writing process, REDD says 'Often times it is an emotion I am going through or a person who somehow for better or worse touched my life. I also try to inspire when I can to keep both myself and the listener on a positive vibe.' REDD is putting those writing skills to work at the moment as he is currently in the studio working on a brand new EP! With plans to create at least 5 new videos (of which one will be animated) the talented lyricist is hoping to reveal the new EP by March. BEAT100 waits with baited breath, we can't wait to hear what is next from REDD! - by BEAT100 in World Music Chart
REDD takes second place with his dynamic track 'Decisions'! The BEAT100 Ultimate Musician also finished in the Top 3 in the previous World Music Video Chart with his music video for '7 Seas'. He is no stranger to the charts having been previously in the Top 3 with tracks 'I'm Me', 'Rising Star' and 'Know It's Real'. This week's winner 'Decisions' received over 1000 plays and it isn't hard to see why; REDD brings natural flow and rhythm to his tracks that make it seem like he has been creating music professionally for years. REDD from Detroit, Michigan, is inspired by a range of artists from Kendrick Lamar and Eminem to Johnny Cash and Jimi Hendrix. Speaking of his love for music, REDD tells BEAT100 'Music has always been an outlet for me and I feel like it's the reason I'm a level headed guy, because I share all of my emotions (whether it's angry or extreme happiness) through my music! I'm extremely blessed to have found my passion so early as a kid.' Recently REDD has been using that passion, pouring it into his hectic performance schedule touring this fall. Having played at the Indie Xplosion/A3c festival in Atlanta, stopping in Nashville and Detroit, he then finished the tour at Indie Week in Toronto, Canada where he filmed much of the music video for winning track '7 Seas'. REDD's for Real Emotion Depicted Directly which you'd agree is pinpointed accurately after you watch this video. On genre I first read "real-hiphop" and I thought this was a bit cocky to write, then my eyes corrected me- "rap-hiphop". What's real and what's real music is strictly personal and subjective therefore I have no desire to give definition(s). - by Alex
REDD uses his words to paint vivid pictures of positive inspiration and overcoming hardship inviting listeners to pay attention. REDD’s 2014 release of “Rising Star” maneuvered through obscurity and rose to the forefront as one of Detroit’s most celebrated up-coming Hip Hop artists. REDD never relies on cheap frills to capture listeners. 2014 was an incredible year for REDD as his freshman release pushed him to the top of his class.
Recently REDD was honored with the award for Ultimate Musician on Beat100. Among other accolades he’s been featured on Music Connects Top 10 Rappers to break out in 2014 and toured at both Indie Xplosions A3C fest and Indie week in Toronto, Canada the same year. REDD is headed back into the studio with high caliber producers/artists to gear up for a spring 2015 album release as the offers come in for this young Detroit elite rapper.
