Javier (blue shirt) and Michael from Red Channels have been best friends since elementary school. Michael met Ella walking down Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, and soon after started dating. That was three years ago, and after splitting up and traveling the world, they all came together to start a band. - No Shame
Red Channels is a Miami-based band formed by Javier, Michael and Ella. Javier and Michael met each other in Elementary School and have been best friends ever since. Ella came into the picture in 2009, when Michael saw her walking down Collins Avenue on Miami Beach.Consequently their relationship ended and Ella went away to travel around the world by herself.It wasn’t until 2012 when Ella came back that Javier and Michael decided to start their new band. Red Channels released their first EP Blinded By The Sound this past May. A four track recording filled with Alternative, Chill and Electronic sounds. Red Channels has only been around for a few months, but they’re making their way through the Miami Music Scene by playing at different venues, such as Mamushka, Bardot and Sweat Records, just to name a few.

I’ve always enjoyed the overall calm and warm feel found in chill-wave music and Red Channels offers you just that. Their music is rich with lyrics pertaining to Miami: giving local listeners a tighter relationship to their music. The poppy synths in combination with the faint background ambiance tying in trademark sounds found on Miami beach; seagulls, crashing waves, blowing winds, etc… makes this EP perfect for any summer stroll–which is exactly what I did when I listened to this EP.
The monotone vocals, steady drum beat and wavy electro-pop-synth makes Red Channels a must-listen-to-band.
I don’t know how else to put it, the music is fucking catchy. The type of music where if enough drugs were ingested it would make anyone feel like Fear and Loathing in Miami Beach. - Hot Damn Miami

iami dreamwave act Red Channels that we posted about their excellent EP Blinded by the Sound last year here, are back at it. They sent us their new single "4 AM" from their upcoming EP Transmission and I am loving the track! Great downtempo, dreamy tune that has been on repeat. Can't wait to check out the new EP and see what else they have been up to.

Bio
Red Channels is Michael, Javier, and Luis. A Miami based band creating sounds that resulted from the influence of past decades music and a collection of personal experiences, filtered through soft vocals, guitars, nostalgic synths, and eclectic live drums.
The bands eclectic sound derives from contrasting musical tastes within the band, in combination with distinct family descent; which include: Cuban, Spanish, and Russian.
Being friends since their childhood, Michael and Javier had always experimented with music together; but it was not until 2012 that they combined their vision into an album after Michael presented various songs he had written--and this was how Blinded by the Sound was created.
Months later, their single "Mine" was featured on No Shame Record's 2012 Summer compilation and they began playing live shows.
Soon after the completion of their first EP, Luis came across their music through mutual friends. He reached out to the band and became the drummer.
In October 2013, Red Channels released their second EP, Transmission.
