Ray Knight

Ray Knight is a hip hop artist best known for his creative storytelling ability, thought provoking lyrics, and passionate delivery. The Fresno, CA raised, Los Angeles transplant, found a love for music from the records his mother played in his youth. His lyrics tell the story of a young man navigating through a life of wonderment, trials, successes, and pains, while embracing all of it.

His journey has thus far brought him many places and given him a vast array of experiences. One that ranges from Central California, to the garrisons and countryside of Jamaica where his father hails from, a life on the road in Texas, and traveling the world to places like Egypt and the UK. On nothing but a few dollars and a thirst for knowledge it is these experiences that he shares with the world through the culture that’s become his life’s canvas, hip hop.

He is currently working on his latest project, Grapes & Water, with plans for a Fall 2014 release.

[FRESNO, CALIFORNIA] Ray Knight has released his visual for GRAPES & WATER. One thing I really like about his music video was the locations, ranging in Europe. Ray Knight actually has been based in Paris since this year 2015, where he’s performing and making new music. His sound has evolved along with him, as he prepares to continue his journey in London. What’s a pretty interesting fact Ray Knight wrote GRAPES & WATER was created in Egypt and he was sitting on The Great Pyramid while writing it. He must of felt inspiration from exploring the area. Ray Knight since he’s relocation is resulting him to perfecting his self reflection and personal growth as a person and as an artist. GRAPES & WATER was Directed by Alexandra Kaucher and it was produced by Oddisee. It pretty cool to see Ray get suited up in his armor gear. Also, another cool thing you don’t see Ray Knight rap into the camera. Just amazing shots captured of Ray Knight in Paris and other locations in Europe. I had the chance to meet Ray Knight for the first time to "Music Stores" in Paris during one of his shows. He rapped that night with a group of Funk / Hip-Hop (The Pack) and inflamed the room by its powerful flow and attractive stage set. He was also very friendly with the public and did not hesitate to join him to dance with him. After discovering his talents, I decided to help in the development of their independent project. So it's back and forth between Los Angeles and Paris, a city with a lot to him: "Since being white in Paris a week, I've Discovered That I have-nots beens truly living in the Manner I wish to live"

I had the privilege of meeting Ray Knight for the first time at Les Disquaires in Paris During one of his shows. He performed that night with a hip-hop / funk band called The Pack. The hearing crowd was buzzing due to his powerful performance. He was very warm with his audience and they did not hesitate to join in and dance. Having INITIALLY discovered after his music, I decided to help him in his own individual project. He travels back and forth from Los Angeles and Paris: a city which means a lot to him: "Since being in Paris, I've discovered that I haven't been truly living in the manner I wish to live." - Indian Monsoon
