On Monday, I was listening to Rock 95.7 the classic and new rock station from Barrie on the car radio. The
DJ was announcing the winners of week 46 of their ”Local and Loud” battle of the bands held at the
Foundation Night Club in Barrie on Sunday night. The winner was Wiarton’s own Rajasi!!! He also said
the level of song writing, over and above the performance, was some of the best he has ever had the
privilege of listening to. Many, many congratulations to the Rajasi Band!!

Bio
2014 Rajasi releases new single OM. One of the bands best tunes yet! 2006, Rajasi was a nominee for "Best Classic Rock" at the Toronto Independent Music Awards. Rajasi placed 2nd in 94.5 The Bull 's New Rock Search. Rajasi was a top 8 finalist in the Barrie Rock 95 Battle of the Bands, and were awarded the prize to professionally record a song for a Rock 95 compilation cd due early 2007. Rajasi made a live television appearance on Rogers cable perfoming several songs. As well touring and performing from Ontario to West Virginia in 2006 Rajasi also recorded 12 tracks for their next album due for release spring 2007.
Rajasi is passionate new rock. Yeah, they like classic bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and The Beatles. But really, Rajasi loves to write and play their own songs. All the time! The upbeat music is exciting and energetic, and the vocals are clear and memorable with lots of harmonies.
Led by singer/songwriter Nitai Hanna, Rajasi has made its way from the mid 90's till now showcasing several talented members but has emerged as a power trio of brothers. Nitai associated passion with his songs and personality and adopted the name Rajasi which was found during his spiritual studies of the ancient sanskrit text Bhagavad-Gita. Rajasi means "in passion".
Nitai started a record company in 2004 called Good Vibe Productions and released an independent album called Rajasi Make It Alright now available at HMV, CD Plus and other stores across Canada. Their single Make It Alright appeared on a compilation disk by Gen-Sub Records. The single got some radio play on university stations. The next single "Here For You" was featured on FM stations 95.1 The Peak and 94.5 The Bull and 94.9 The Rock. Though play was sparse the response was great. Rajasi has toured in Ontario in support of their album. They have been the supporting act for several reputable groups like the The Trews, Thornley, Idle Sons, and Hurst and Staggered Crossing. Rajasi shows are leaving a trail of good times and good tunes, RAJASI ROCKS!
