"Junior's Cave Interview"

He has a mission to redefine Pop music, and if one takes a listen to what he is doing, one will say that the Long Island Native is on his way. In this recent spotlight, Producer KR shares his experiences, background, and dedication to making music. Enjoy the spotlight!

Isaac: Thanks for the taking the time to complete this online interview. How do you sum up 2008 for Producer KR?

Producer KR: Productive, Hard work and Momentum say it all. It's been a blessing.

Isaac: What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment for 2008?

Producer KR: I've recently locked in a licensing deal for a few major TV/commercial placements.

Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?

Producer KR: Influences! We could be here for a while Issac (lol). I grew up listening to my parents' music. While my friends were memorizing lyrics from Biggie, Jay-Z, and Mary J Blige, I was more into artist like Sam Cook, Ray Charles, Jackson 5 & Aretha Franklin. So my biggest influences would have to be from the 50's-Late to70's era. That was the first time music really moved me and played a serious role in my life.

Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry?

Producer KR: Diversity, personality & creativity is what I offer. The music industry needs more individuals that can move pop culture. That's the goal that really drives me; I want to move pop culture.

Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?

Producer KR: Wynter Gordon (Atlantic Records). She is a singer/songwriter with an angelic voice and when I hear it I flip into full creative production mode.

Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?

Producer KR: Ambitious, Energetic, & Fun!

Isaac: What is your definition for Hip-Hop?

Producer KR: A culture, a world were the styles clash, samples are cut rough, and the kick drums are gritty. Hip Hop to me is about individuality and at the same time unity.

Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from your previous releases?

Producer KR: Good, some mixed reviews, but it keeps me on my A game.

Isaac: What can fans expect from your latest CD, you are working on currently? What is the inspiration behind the CD?

Producer KR: I'm devoting all my time and energy into my music and taking it to the next level. Currently, I'm working with several artists on album/mixtape projects. Oh, I'm also working on releasing an instrumental mixtape for the streets in late spring.

Isaac: Where can fans locate you at online?

Producer KR: MySpace of course. www.Myspace.com/PRODUCERKR

Isaac: What can fans expect from Producer KR in 2009?

Producer KR: Innovative music. I'm releasing a clothing line this year (Early fall 09). A weekly YouTube TV show.

Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans…

Producer KR: GOD first and most important, my supportive Mom, Dad and Cousin, Beautiful Girlfriend And My amazing 3.5 yr son (Kevin). Cerg Productions (Mic-o, Jason Kelly) And My Fans Thank You for the support.

Isaac: Final words from Producer KR …

Producer KR: The sky is not the limit. In music, your limit is non existent if you choose it to be.

AND THANKS JC MAGAZINE IT'S BEEN FUN! I LOOK FORWARD TO DOING THIS AGAIN!
