Piety to Agony is an eclectic metal band based in Los Angeles/Orange County, formed in the spring of 2016 by guitarists Nissyo and Yüfei. The band name was coined by Yüfei and indicates a specific interest in the significance of obstacle and defeat in human development, a theme that they are to interpret and permute constantly as they evolve, as both artists and human beings.Their self-titled debut EP was released in January, 2019, consisting of three songs that discuss topics ranging from Platonism, existentialism, to multiculturalism. The band is now immediately working on a full-length album expected in the second half of 2019.
