“It was a hot Saturday in the summer for the Vetsfest in Oakdale, Minnesota when I saw one of my favorite bands, Pat McLaughlin Band.”
“The lead guitar and leader of the band, Pat Mclaughlin. Very excellent voice and range. A very strong singer and great lead guitarist.”
“I give the band five stars for a well-blended musical band. Five stars for a variety of music they play very well. Five stars for excellent solo and blended voices. Five stars for an all-star musicians and singers’ band. They don’t get any better than this!” - Blogged August 8, 2019 by MUSIC EXPERIENCE WITH MITZI BELIVEAU

Bio
Whether solo with his guitar or jammin’ with friends, Pat McLaughlin delivers authentic rockin’ blues with his inviting, rich voice and playful, personable appeal that is perfectly engaging for people who love to dance or for the foot-tappin', kicked back listener.
Well-dressed, well-honed and full of personalities, The Pat McLaughlin Band is a collective of some mighty fine musicians, all familiar to the blues community. JD Donovan is on bass and vocals, with Tony Houle on guitar and vocals, and Taco Valasquez on drums. It is all out when friends join in, like Bill Swanson or Chuck Solberg, both cover keyboards and vocals, and blowin' it out the door is ‘Valley Horns’ Ace Barton and Tommy Stevens.
Pat, JD, Tony, and Taco are found bringing dancers to their feet throughout the Twins Cities numerous blues establishments, VFWs, Legions and Vets homes. Outdoor performances range from the Bayfront Blues Festival to a couple years at the St. Paul Winter Carnival and, of course, each year at the (below-mentioned) annual VetsFest event.
Pat’s solo acoustic talents have been featured live in-studio on KFAI’s Lady J Show and have lead him to share the stage with greats like Popa Chubby, Crow, and Bobby Rush. He produced, and is featured on, two Minnesota Blues All-Stars CDs, both recorded live, with all-original blues songs by some of Minnesota’s best blues artists, many who are on the national circuit. And for the last 7 years, Pat has been a frequent host of Wilebski’s Blues Saloon’s Open Jam.
Taking his love of the blues to a new level, Pat developed the Vets For Music Foundation, organizing musicians to provide the revitalizing live music experience for veterans that are in hospitals and homes. Each summer, Pat organizes VetsFest, a free, outdoor, all-day, rockin’ blues concert and military car show event for vets and the community, aimed at fundraising for Vets For Music.
During the winter months, you’ll find Pat residing and sharing his rockin’ blues in the St. Petersburg, Florida area.
