And now we present our loudest band ever. Sweet Baby Lou has been rocked by many a band at many a time, and even by more than one band in the same night, however the decibel level in the studio for Outer Stylie’s two-hour metal sledgehammering was by far the loudest.
This Amherst area three-piece, who are strongly rumored for a surprise appearance at this year’s Extravaganja, dropped some meaty cuts including the longest Sweet Baby Lou song- a twenty minute epic named “Triphecta of the Moon” along with other choice cuts like “Someone Say Something” and the oddly named “Walking the Ducks.” - WMAU Radio Show: Sweet Baby Lou and the Reverends of Funk

When I listen to this song, I think of Pearl Jam, but better and more understandable!
The vocals fit this song and they mesh well with the music. The singer reminds me of Eddie Vedder, and while not a huge fan of Pearl Jam, the singer takes what Eddie started and does it right.
The guitar work is nice, I like the lick played in the beginning, it sets the energy for the song, like a smooth groovin' song. I am liking this.
The drums are straight on and fit the song. Overall, this is an awesome groove that the rhythm section lays out.
Great bass work, and for once I can actually it in a song, most song I listen to mix the bass really low, but this is prominent and said prominence really moves the track.
It's not too often that one hears a really good groove band, but this one sticks out. Keep up the good work! - Nocturnal Flesh from Baltimore, MD

Bio
Outer Stylie is a heavy, psychedelic, explosion of sound located in Amherst, MA. Although steeped in hard rock influences they take the listener to grounds and heights not often achieved by other rock bands. Never to submit to the clichés of rock ‘n’ roll, they are also influenced by the sensibilities of jazz and classical music, the freak-out mentality of psychedelic jams, and the infinite possibilities of an experimental outlook. They balance on the axis between simplicity and uncontrollable chaos; dance with the flowers of beauty and beasts of disgust. Hearing them live will truly take you to the Outer Stylie…
Outer Stylie officially started in 2008 when members ; Nate Martel guitar/vocals. Tom Schack bass, and Brendan Slowey drums changed there name from Legal Lies. As Legal Lies, they played numerous Umass house parties, where they all met, many local clubs and Extravaganga in 2008 before changing there name, and releasing their debut self titled studio album. They then headed on a DIY tour across country. Returning from tour, Stylie kept up its momentum by playing a number of incredible shows including the nationally renowned Paradise Rock Club in Boston, as well as their first Iron horse and Maximum Capacity shows.
After all members graduated from Umass, and Brendan left the band, Stylie took a brief hiatus until the summer of 2010 when they added two new members, Kyle Heon on drums and John Duffy on guitar. The new members added a new dimension to the band and truly established the sound they had been going for. For their first gig with the new line-up they played the infamous Hampshire Halloween at Hampshire College in Amherst and successfully spooked and grooved an extremely attentive audience. After debuting their new line-up with an evolved sound, they recorded many live demos and singles which were given out free at an array of shows including multiple Iron Horse, Pearl Street, and Elevens gigs in Northampton. As well as hitting up their local hot-spots, Outer Stylie has continued to sonically destroy New England with its heavy funky psychedelia including many shows at legendary clubs like Nectars in Burlington VT, the Middle East in Boston, Beatnik's in Worcester and raging North East Festivals like Bella Terra (with acts like Dead Prez, Dirtyphonics, and members of the Disco Biscuits and Lotus) and Rockinghill festival (with acts like Kung Fu and the Ryan Montbleau band).
Recently, Outer Stylie has opened for two nationally touring acts at the Pearl Street Night club in Kung Fu and Badfish. As well as this, they are scheduled to release their second (and long awaited) studio album in late summer, and are currently expanding their sound with new musicians.
