“”After the Rain” is the first release from Seattle band “One Gun Shy”. Their sound is inspired by hard rock heavyweights such as Shinedown, Godsmack, Alter Bridge, Daughtry, and many more. It was engineered by Nate Yaccino (Soundgarden) and Dylan Fant in Robert Lang Studios (Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie, and Alice in Chains) and One Shot Studios. One Gun Shy come from diverse musical backgrounds, and through their experiences and tastes create unique blend of rock that will satisfy almost any music lovers palate. One Gun Shy will be spending the 2013 year playing shows to promote After the Rain, and hope to expand their geographic and demographic listening base. You can catch them in a city near you on tour this summer! Look for great things to come in 2013!”

“One Gun Shy After the Rain Listen to One Gun Shy If you've got an itch for some straight-up 80s-style hard rock, One Gun Shy may be just the thing to scratch your itch! After The Rain, the debut album from this Seattle-based foursome impresses on a number of technical levels. They deliver a great all-around rock album despite having only been together for a couple years. The amount of polish they show in both their production and their work as a group is excellent. One Gun Shy's vocalist has a deep voice which immediately grabs the listener, low and intense but always melodic. He displays a good range as well, moving up and down while never getting out of the tenor range. Bassist Steven Gough provides solid bass licks. On their best tracks, One Gun Shy builds sparse postrock-influenced soundscapes accompanied by some surprisingly trippy drumming from Chris Womble, such as on Turn A Blind Eye As with the best hard rock acts, there's real musicianship behind it!”

“One Gun Shy, having reviewed one of the tracks that would be released on their new LP, After The Rain. In that review, I spoke a lot about OGS's lead singer vocal style being a great fit to the Seattle music scene. Now, the band, One Gun Shy, have put together a body of work that my previous review cannot do justice for. After The Rain is the band’s debut album, but don’t let the fact that the band is relatively new to the Seattle music scene fool you. These guys have a sound, reminiscent of some of Seattle’s long-time players of the scene, even though the band is only about 2 years old. Produced by Producer/Engineer Dylan Fant and One Shot Studios, as well as Producer/Engineer Nate Yaccino and Robert Lang Studios, After The Rain is anything but amateur work. With influences from some of music’s biggest names, and with the kind of drive, focus and talent that it takes to get anywhere in this industry, it’s not hard to imagine that this band has some great potential.”

“One Gun Shy have a hit album on their hands, with AFTER THE RAIN. The release features the title track, "After The Rain", which runs over four minutes long, and is brilliantly laced together melodically and lyrically. I enjoyed this track from the get-go. I also find this to be my favorite of the thirteen track album. The band, which just began in 2011, sounds to me like a mixture of Breaking Benjamin, Adam Gontier, Godsmack, Shinedown, and Metallica. So, to put it mildly, it sounds like modern rock, lol. The band has a Hard Rock Café Release show set for April 27th, for AFTER THE RAIN this year, in 2013. The band is yet again, another fine rock product from Seattle, Washington. Let's just hope the longevity of this band remains the same as Seattle's predecessor's and we can enjoy many years of great rock, and true talent!! With other smash songs on this record like "I'll Take The Pain", "Answer To Choose", and "Hypnotized", you cannot go wrong with this at all!!”

“I have to admit, I am just a sucker for a good hard rock song and One Gun Shy’s “I'll Still Know”, seems to satisfy my craving. I gave “I'll Still Know” several listens, mainly, because the song is just that good. Also, because I wanted to give each part of the song a fair analysis. OGS's vocalist are reminiscent to the likes of several of the Seattle music scene’s greatest male vocalists. When I tried to put my finger on who he reminded me of, I couldn’t come up with a specific name. There is no mimicking of other singers, he’s just built for this genre of music. The singer has professional control over his vocals, never letting them get away from the rest of the band’s playing. Cohesive, with a clear understanding of what it means to stay within the correct pitch range. Just the right amount of power, never over doing it, or drowning out anyone else...”

““One Gun Shy” is up to big things. The band, which was highlighted in an earlier article, has started recording their debut album at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle. Thirteen songs will end up on the finished album which will be for sale on iTunes, at their live shows and on the “One Gun Shy” website. A completion date for the album has not been decided quite yet, but keep your ears and eyes open."”

“I was quite surprised to learn this was the first public performance of One Gun Shy. This seemed to be a well oiled group of seasoned pros. This unit has really done their wood shed homework fine tuning some very well crafted arrangements. Music is heavy hitting as well as melodic. Tunes are radio friendly heavier influenced rock with slight resemblances of Daughtry or Saliva. This can certainly be credited to OGS's songwriting and the vocalist's baritone crooning with the ability to also cover high range belting aggression. I am definitely sure One Gun Shy is about to make their mark on the history of music that has forged the Seattle scene.”

“One Gun Shy, is definitely primed to make a run in this crazy industry we call music!!! Their music demanded my attention from the very first verse in "Turned a Blind Eye"!!! Their music and recording is top notch, and the vocals are extremely catchy!!! I will be playing their songs on my radio show from here on out! Definitely a must listen!!!”

“OGS, “loves crunchy, gritty hard rock.” That love is what drives the types of songs he writes and performs with his fellow band members Chris Womble, David leighton, Neriah "Stone" Hart and Michael David. These four men make comprise the cleverly named band, “One Gun Shy.” The term is a guitar reference- it means that one guitar is missing from the ensemble. In the early stages of the band formation, the guys wanted another guitar player. They kept placing ads on Craigslist, but to no avail. So they were, as it seemed “one gun shy” and the name stuck. As of recently, they have been continuously practicing their music in anticipation for their scheduled recording session at Robert Lang Studios in early May. Robert Lang Studios is a Seattle-based studio that has produced records with Nirvana, the Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie, Alice in Chains and many other well-known bands and musicians. The work of the studio can be reflected in their awards.”

“‘Eye of The Storm’ Is A Solid Starting Point For One Gun Shy’s Next LP Posted on September 2, 2017 ‘Eye of the Storm’ is a solid new effort from One Gun Shy. It does plenty to build anticipation for Eye of the Storm. That is due in part to the song’s musical arrangement. The song’s arrangement is a heavy, guitar-driven composition that will appeal to fans of Theory of a Deadman, Soil, Three Days Grace, Shinedown and other similar acts.Just as interesting to note is the harmony created through the pairing of guitarists Michael David and Neirah Hart with bassist David Leighton. That harmony is (in this critic’s view) what really forms the arrangement’s foundation. The addition of drummer Chris Womble’s time keeping strengthens that foundation even more. When the whole of those parts is considered as one, the end result proves t be an arrangement that is certain to become one of Eye of the Storm stand out songs if only for its musical element. Of course its musica”

Independent rock outfit One Gun Shy will soon release its latest album Eye of the Storm to the masses. While the band prepares for the album’s release, it is streaming the album’s lead single ‘Eye of the Storm’ via its website. The song is a strong first impression from the band in regards to what it gives audiences to expect from Eye of the Storm. That is due in part to the song’s musical arrangement. Its lyrical content is just as important to note as its musical arrangement. The song’s production rounds out its most important elements. Each element is important in its own way to the song’s overall presentation. All things considered, the song does plenty in itself to build anticipation for Eye of the Storm. It will soon be accompanied by a video that the band is currently finishing.
‘Eye of the Storm’ is a solid new effort from One Gun Shy. It does plenty to build anticipation for Eye of the Storm. That is due in part to the song’s musical arrangement. The song’s arrangement is a heavy, guitar-driven composition that will appeal to fans of Theory of a Deadman, Soil, Three Days Grace, Shinedown and other similar acts. That sounds like quite a spread, but comparing the bands’ sounds shows that it is in reality not such a stretch. It is an infectious, up-tempo composition that wastes no time getting audiences’ fists pumping. Just as interesting to note is the harmony created through the pairing of guitarists Michael David and Neirah Hart with bassist David Leighton. That harmony is (in this critic’s view) what really forms the arrangement’s foundation. The addition of drummer Chris Womble’s time keeping strengthens that foundation even more. When the whole of those parts is considered as one, the end result proves t be an arrangement that is certain to become one of Eye of the Storm’s stand out songs if only for its musical element. Of course its musical arrangement is not its only key elements. Its lyrical content is just as important to note as its musical arrangement.
The lyrical content of ‘Eye of the Storm’ is centered on a topic to which so many listeners can relate—the matter of the fear of being hurt in relationships. Womble noted in an interview that the song’s subject focuses on the attempt to win another person’s heart while having that fear of being hurt in the process. That is made clear as Hart sings in the song’s lead verse, “When you’re near me I lose control and it feels like I’m falling again/Down a spiral staircase to your soul/And I’m begging you let me in/Everytime I fall into your eyes I’m home again/Tell me, tell me I need to know/If you feel it/Do you feel it too?” Here is someone (who could be male or female) confessing those deep emotions to the other person, yet being tentative at the same time. He goes on to sing in the song’s second verse, “I don’t want to break your heart/But believe me I can’t take it/I don’t want to change your mind/But it always comes to this/Believe me.” This is an even more interesting set of lines. It leads one to believe that maybe this is that second person responding to the first, trying not to hurt the first person. On the other hand, it could also still be that first person confessing to the second. Either way, the discussion being had in these verses (and the song’s chorus) is impacting in and of itself. When it is joined with the energy exuded in the song’s musical arrangement, it becomes even more impacting. The pairing of the two elements together makes the song in whole a work that is certain to touch listeners of any age deeply. Keeping this in mind, the song proves clearly why it is a solid first impression for Eye of the Storm. Even with that in mind, there is still one more element to examine in this song—its production values.
The production values presented in the song give the song its finishing touch. Listeners will note the expert fashion in which each of the song’s elements are balanced throughout its nearly four-minute run time. From start to finish none of the lines overpower each other at any point. Even with the effects added to Hart’s vocals, it is not overly difficult to decipher what he is saying. There is some slight difficulty, but it is minimal compared to the difficulty of understanding other bands’ vocalists when effects are added to their parts. Considering this and the balance between his part of those of his fellow band members, the overall balance presented in the song’s production adds one last positive to its presentation. That being the case, the combination of those elements together proves once again why this song is such a solid first impression for Eye of the Storm and why there is plenty more positive for audiences to anticipate when this record *ahem* rises. Yes, that bad pun was intended.
Eye of the Storm is being mixed and mastered by Tim Sage at Studio Sage. The album’s song’s were originally recorded at Robert Lang Studio with Justin Armstrong handling engineering. Michael Decker, with Momma Lynn Records LLC is the band’s A&R representative.

Bio
It all began back in 2011 with drive and determination to do something different on a musical note. One Gun Shy immediately started work on their debut album entitled, "After the Rain" which is out now under the Lime & Dime Records Label. The guys work very hard in everything they do. They take the music seriously, but remember to never take themselves too seriously. The members of OGS come from varied and unique backgrounds, but share a common goal and vision for music.OGS worked with Producer/Engineer Dylan Fant, and One Shot Studios on the production of their first release, as well as Producer/Engineer Nate Yaccino and Robert Lang Studios. Their Second Release the guys went straight to Dylan Fant with One Shot Studios. Their Third Release the guys wanted the old school production so back to Robert Langs for production and worked with Engineer Justin Armstrong. Finished At Studio Sage For The Mixing/Mastering by Tim Sage, the sound is exactly where it needed to be. The guys are always writing and working on new songs and have been spotted back at their home studio working on a new track...New Single Coming? You will just have to wait and see...The guys were fortunate to enlist the talent of Dave Coram and Jyri Glynn for studio work on their album. Having carved their sound around Seattle, surrounding areas and touring for the past several years thus proving that fans do enjoy what they have created and the three releases have been more than expected. The future is going to be full of surprises! Currently their third release entitled "Eye Of The Storm", released Worldwide in July of 2018 is doing extremely well! Having such singles as "Eye Of The Storm", "Constellation", "Let" and now "Hard Reality". Look for another single release sometime in June 2019.
