"One Hundred Paces share their vibrant full length record, Between the WchoesReleased back in 2019, but equally as fantastic today, One Hundred Paces have shared their vibrant full length record, Between the Echoes"

Released back in 2019, but equally as fantastic today, One Hundred Paces have shared their vibrant full length record, Between the Echoes. We loved it! Please read along with us for our full thoughts on the album, as well as a background on the band as well.
Based in Ventura, California, One Hundred Paces are a four piece indie rock band founded by singer & guitarist James Lombardo and features guitarist Ed Kasper, bassist Colin Kateley and drummer Steven Ming. Building off their successes year over year, especially after being featured on MTV and MTV's Teen Mom 2 season soundtrack, this band is perfectly capturing the essence of indie rock.

Released through the Santa Barbara indie label, Wednesday Records, we think this could potentially be their best record yet. Coming in at 9 songs, spanning 33 wonderful minutes, it is truly as cohesive in sound and atmosphere that a record could possibly be. One of our biggest critiques on full length records is each song sounding like it could belong on a different record, however One Hundred Paces really nailed down what they were looking to accomplish, and it shows. - We write about music

"Premiere: One Hundred Paces (Or Replays) of “The Reckoning” Will Never Be Enough"

When you’ve been playing drums since the age of seven, and guitar since twelve, you’re destined to make some cool sounds. James Lombardo has made plenty of them in his career, and his latest music endeavor One Hundred Paces is no exception.

Today, we’ve got the latest single from the Santa Barbara, CA act. Titled “The Reckoning”, you can hear it for the very first time below. Let us know what you think on Twitter! - Idobi

"Neon lit regrets meet Brooklyn dawn"

One Hundred Paces’ latest single “N.Y.C.” isn’t just another song about the Big Apple – it’s a masterfully crafted indie folk anthem that captures those precious moments when city lights blur into morning sun and memories become poetry. Released in early 2025, this track transforms urban loneliness into something beautiful and shared.

From its opening notes, the song wraps around you like a familiar embrace. The atmospheric instrumentation creates a sonic landscape that mirrors the city itself – both intimate and vast, personal yet universal. Each guitar stroke and gentle percussion hit feels intentional, building a soundscape that’s as carefully constructed as the city’s skyline.

The lyrics cut straight to the heart, painting vivid pictures of Brooklyn mornings and neon-reflected eyes. When the vocals confess “I know I was wrong” and yearn for “one more time,” there’s an authenticity that resonates with anyone who’s ever wished they could rewrite their own history. The way the melody carries these confessions feels like a late-night walk through quiet city streets, where every step echoes with meaning.
What makes this track exceptional is how it balances nostalgia with raw honesty. The production, recorded at Hidden City Studios by Elliott Lanham, gives each element room to breathe while maintaining an intimate warmth throughout. The band has managed to capture that unique NYC feeling – when the city feels both impossibly large and surprisingly small, when past and present blur together in the early morning light.

This isn’t just a song about New York City – it’s about those moments when place and memory become inseparable, when regret and hope dance together under streetlights. One Hundred Paces has created something that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable, proving that sometimes the most local stories are the ones that travel farthest. - That Girl Krys

"Listening Now: One Hundred Paces- NYC"

One Hundred Paces returns with N.Y.C, a heartfelt indie folk anthem that blends melancholic storytelling with atmospheric instrumentation. Led by Singer-songwriter James Lombardo, the track captures the push and pull of nostalgia and longing set against the backdrop of the city that never sleeps. With its delicate balance of rich melodies and introspective lyrics, N.Y.C. channels the emotional depth of artists like Death Cab for Cutie, and Iron & Wine, making it a must listen for fans of evocative modern folk. - Last Day Deaf
