Oak & Ivy was formed in January of 2019 by guitarist Jon Whelpley, drummer Aaron La Plante, and vocalist Gage Mikan as an outlet to make a type of music that they felt the South FL scene was lacking. After months of trying bassists, the trio settled on the addition of bassist Nikolas Kulpanowski.
In recent months the band has been recording their first EP, set to drop in February 2020 and have been playing local shows in SWFL to much success! Oak & Ivy can best be described as a Post-Punk band that draws inspiration from Math Rock and Emo music.
