Bio
Nuke Plant Chickens is a loud rock band from Kenosha, Wisconsin. They play a variety of funk rock, punk rock, and heavy metal. They usually play all originals. The band is also influenced by reggae, psychedelic, disco, country, and jazz artists, with too many names to name.
Nuke Plant Chickens has performed at bars, clubs, and street festivals dating back to 2022. In the summer and fall of ‘22, five chickens performed at bars in Kenosha, WI. By the time 2023 rolled around, Nuke Plant Chickens had grown from five members to six. They continued playing bars and clubs in the Kenosha area, as well as performing at street festivals such as Make Music Day or Kenosha’s Taste of Wisconsin, and ended the year with an explosive New Years Eve set at Rustic Road Brewing Company.
Nuke Plant Chickens plan to release their debut album to streaming services in 2024, and in the meantime, they plan to play at as many bars and festivals that are available to them. They hope to start playing more bills with Wisconsin and Illinois based bands, hopefully move up from playing in bars to playing in venues designated for live music, and maybe even land an opening gig in Milwaukee, Madison, or Chicago for a nationally touring group. Just some Nuke Plant Ambitions to pursue.
Nuke Plant Chickens has gone through several lineups, fluctuating between five and six members on and off since their first show. Right now, Nuke Plant Chickens is made of Ethan on guitar, Cameron on bass guitar, Max on drums, Cloe on bass guitar, Hunter on guitar, and Jeff on vocals.
Nuke Plant Chickens is a result of a kind of local supergroup. It’s a long story, but basically a metal band (with Ethan on guitar, Cameron on bass guitar, and Max on drums) joined forces with a singer (Jeff) who was working with a funk group at the time, and the band was born. NPCs’ fifth member was traditionally a wind-player until late 2023. In 2022 and 2023, they featured Maddie on saxophone and then, in the second half of 2023, featured Finn on trumpet. As for the current members of the band, Hunter on guitar was a member of the same metal band before joining Nuke Plant Chickens in Finn’s absence, and Cloe on bass guitar was a free agent who joined back when Maddie was still in the band.
All Nuke Plant Chickens are young and fresh and full of energy, they are looking forward to future opportunities to showcase their music.
