INNER G' is the result of a continuous exchange and respect between two like-minded souls. Oakland-based 10.4 ROG has been on our radars for a minute now, and ever since his releases on our Free Download series and 30K compilation, he was also most recently featured in POMO's 'Tempo Dreams' released on Bastard Jazz - further cementing his position as one of the most exciting young artists to look out for. Musically, he likes to cite hip-hop, funk, and jazz as primary influences on his production style, but considers himself an eclectic listener and fan above all.
As a beatmaker and producer, 10.4 ROG has always been making things and leaving room for someone - a singer or rapper - to fill in the blanks. He tries not to adorn his instrumentals with too much, with the possibility that someone else could populate that musical space.
This is where NOO comes in as an integral element to the elevation + completion of songs in that coveted 'producer-rapper' relationship. Both gravitated towards each other musically, with NOO's tone, timing and humor adding further shine to the project. 'INNER G''s primary strength lies in its rawness and draws from a wide spectrum of influences, ranging from hip-hop, jazz, funk, soul and the like. It is at once dark and muted, but funky and energetic at the same time. Bio
Noo is a scientist. His rhymes brings a relaxed conversational vibe over his production that combines lush, soulful samples inspired by 90's east-coast hip hop and southern bass.
Since winter 2008, Noo (pronounced like 'new') has been providing
smoke-out-worthy beats and a familial love of Hip Hop to the
musical pallete of Tacoma Washington and the rest of the
Northwest.
Since Noo's first independently released EP's and mixtapes, shows, and a successful run hosting a weekly Open Mic in 2011 in Tacoma , he's been busy recording and producing
collaborations with local talent, performing, and planning a regional tour.
After releasing "Inner G" with Seattle/Cali native 10.4 Rog in Spring 2016, and his new solo release "Self: Volume 1" , Noo hopes to serve his audience with the smoke session music he's known for creating.
