Morgan Jankie aka Natural Vybz is a well rounded conscious artist who hails from the Caribbean island St.lucia. Natural Vybz grew up in the southern tip of the island(vieux-fort).Educated in vieux-fort first attending Plain view combined school in Laresouse,then Vieux-fort junior secondary and graduated at the micoud secondary school in 1992.Before migrating to the Us vybz as he is called was employed with cable and wireless in Corinth gros islet as a telephone technician. Born during the reggae uprising and the Rastafarian movement, experienced reggae music at its best with the likes of Bob Marley and the wailers, Jacob Miller, Dennis Brown, Toots and the maytals, and Jimmy Cliff just to name a few .Being from a family of folk singers and musicians, like king of la rose captain Elude who is his uncle, music quickly became a part of his upbringing: first adhering to the family tradition but before too long became a big reggae fan. Natural Vybz was always very savvy when it came to putting words together. An editor for five star magazine describe his eloquence with lyrics as” crazy”, “Vybz is a genius, he is just crazy with it “he replied when questioned about natural Vybz music ability. With his unique style and lyrical content he has been branded by many as the best lyricist of this era. Although he appreciates the diversity of reggae music he gravitates to roots and culture since he believes in knowledge and upliftment for all people. Though natural Vybz have been in the recording for the past fifteen years he didn’t get any recognition till the introduction of social networking, vybz spoke from his experience saying “social networking broke the barriers that had been blocking many talented artist who had no out let to be heard, now we have the myspace, facebook YouTube and many more sights that will put talented artist in high demand. Natural Vybz is a breath of fresh air and is guaranteed to add substance and serenity to any event he performs at. He released three singles from the soon to be released album “Boom Luv”, “which is creating frenzy and acts as a talk piece on many radio stations here and abroad. Natural Vybz and the Vybz hammonetts have done various charity tours to help raise funds for the Red Cross as a donation to Haiti. He now lives in Boston Massachusetts and has been performing on stages all over the USA.
The headline on the front page of YO! Magazine describes natural vybz as conscious, crazy, genius. In an interview with datzhitz radio 99.7 vybz described the issue in YO! Magazine as a humbling experience, he said” it’s not every day an artist gets to make the front page of a major magazine and more so not very often an independent artist gets a write up in any magazine without spending crazy dough, I thank the most high for the strength and talent and the insight of the people to recognize it.” Natural vybz have been making strides in the industry and intend to break barriers and borders that have been suppressing reggae music on the international markets.
