Bio
Muse L’Artiste is a singer, songwriter, composer and producer with a unique alto-voice and a distinctive sound. Born in Paris, France and from Cameroonian parentage, she was introduced to a fusion of cultures and music at an early age. By the age of 5, she could already read sheet music, after her parents took her to music reading classes from the age of 4. Encouraged by her father, she began piano lessons where she learnt classical music. Muse later discovered Jazz with which she felt a deep connection.
Looking for more self-expression, at age 11, Muse L’Artiste started music production classes and began to create beats and selling them. She was also discovering her voice at this time and she started collaborating with Hip-Hop artists in the US and in France.
At the age of 17, Muse opened for French singer Vitaa, to a sold-out audience of 2000 people. Shortly afterwards she formed a band with 3 other musicians with whom she performed with for about a year. This led her to meet American producer, Leroy Chambers with whom she released her first limited edition EP. Following the release, she played at La Luciole in France, for her debut headliner at age 19. All the signed copies of the EP were sold out post performance. Muse L’Artiste was invited to perform at the 20th anniversary of the festival ‘Soirs Au Village’ that the African music legend, Manu Dibango, had created. She was then invited to share the stage with him.
Muse L’Artiste moved to Los Angeles in 2012 where she worked with Grammy-nominated producer Haskel Jackson on her first album ‘The Journey’ under the alias Afro Diamond. Following the success of her first single ‘Who’s She’, she performed at the Celebrity Centre in Hollywood, CA and with Femi Kuti at Bebop Festival. In 2015, she performed at Le Truc in Paris and co-founded Indimore Media (www.indimore.com).
Muse L’Artiste has continued to evolve as an artist, singer, composer and producer. Her new single 'Losing My Head' features Uhmeer (Son of DJ Jazzy Jeff). It’s part of her upcoming studio album 'Mirror Identity' in which she expresses the narrative of the different aspects of her life and the experiences of being part of the millennial generation.
