"Emerald City Gala begs the question: What can you do in a year?"

"One of my favorite bands in the city, Motus, held me glued to the front row their entire set. New back-up vocalist Kaeli Earle was funkily captivating, constantly grooving her feet to the beat. Trumpet player Daniel Lombard still has the most infectious stank face in the game, and frontwoman Monica Parshotam was ever-consuming, holding down center stage with incredible grace and charisma."
-Dan Ray - Dan's Tunes

"A Warm Introduction to Motus"

“You hope that music is more than just a phase and that the world can support bands like this, clever, thoughtful, heady, eclectic, bouncy tunes that teeter on a burlesque of collegiate jazz chops, multiple songwriters and voices, and a general musical cuteness that should mature nicely with age.”
-David Stedman - 100 Miles of Music

"MOTUS EP RELEASE PARTY PACKS OUT TRACTOR TAVERN"

“It’s a classy fun vibe chock full of great harmonies between the vocalists and incredible cohesion within the band [...] No lie, the melodies are just hypnotic, plain and simple.”

“As they lean into this unique sound there is a real potential for a wildly successful band to emerge here. If they continue to grow within themselves and their music, you undoubtedly will see them on huge stages everywhere.”
-Jimmy Bako - Respect My Region

"Booboolala hosts release show at Nectar with Biddadat, Decent at Best, Motus"

"I was hit with an incredible amount of bluesy-jazz musicianship that held me rapt until the last note of their set. Frontwoman Monica Parshotam has the aura of a New Yorker in the best way. Instead of the epic gloom of a Seattleite, she commanded the stage with whimsical and powerful effervescence."
-Dan Ray - Dan's Tunes

"Live Reviews: Moorea Masa & The Mood, Raquel Rodriguez, Motus"

"As seen time and time again, Motus mesmerizes audience members with a wide range of exuberant talent. Their all encompassing sound, inclusive of strong harmonies, horns, and funk, made it nearly impossible to find anyone in the crowd who wasn’t grooving and dancing along to the music. Not only does this band have a soulful funk vibe, resemblant of modern day jazz, R&B, and soul groups, they also have purposeful lyrics addressing political and social issues, as heard in songs like ‘Gold River.’"
-Kelsea Hill - What's Up Magazine

"Editor's Choice: Motus"

"Motus is one of those bands where you blink and all of a sudden they're packing the Buffalo... I've had more people recently, just music fans, rave about how great Motus is... and for good reason, they ARE that good. Soulful and glorious, they breathe some new life into the local funk scene. Enjoy them and bring some good dancing shoes."
-Brent Cole - What's Up Magazine

"Live Reviews: Motus, Bob Fossil, High Turnover"

“Motus is loud, soulful, jazzy, somewhat theatrical, and lighthearted. The whole sound went as perfectly together as chocolate, wine, and cheese. Smooth, rich, and indulgent.”
-Caitlin Cohen - What's Up Magazine
