"Morninbell Review"

The Pink Floyd-ish harmonic dreaminess, Caribbean-styled spacey experimentation, and swiftly moving country-tinged foot-tappers make for a record that's fine as an eclectic indie rock mish-mash - The Onion

"Washington Post"

"A special kind of band" - The Washington Post

"Pitchfork"

"Morningbell is onto something with 'Through the Belly of the Sea.' The album sits at a rarified level of ironic indie rock nostalgia." - Pitchforkmedia.com

"UK review"

"Despite the playfulness of the concept this isn’t a novelty record - there is a depth to the writing and performances, the melodies are like spent air bubbles that burst in your ears whispering the secrets of the depths." - Americana-UK

"Morningbell in Smother"

"Morningbell’s latest is just as damn cool as those awesome little books were back in the ‘80’s... Impressive…Most Impressive!” - Smother magazine

"Blurb in Blender"

"Make room for this up and coming indie band" - Blender - April 2008

Bio

Morningbell has steadily grown into a national presence through relentless touring and their signature "$100 Light Show." The band was featured on MTV's The Real World Sydney, was invited to play the 2008 Bonnaroo Music Festival (one of the only independent artists to earn a slot) and has shared a stage with Broken Social Scene, Bela Fleck, soul legend Solomon Burke, Man Man, Robert Sledge (ex Ben Folds Five) and many others.

The band's influences range from The Beatles and The Flaming lips to Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Louis Armstrong, Sinatra, and just about everything else.

Morningbell is set apart from others by way of their inventive stage show and energetic performances. They also made the world's first Choose-Your-Own-Adventure album.

Morningbell was praised by The Washington Post, The Onion, Pitchfork, Blender and many others, and charted on more than 30 college and independent radio stations.
