The Hip-Hop community is at an all time rise. As millions of Indie artists work hard and perfect their craft, Trap-Hop has also risen and become very popular in the community. The music scene in LA has also been on the rise in Hip-Hop, with new music and sounds coming from producers like DJ Mustard and artists such as YG. Many artists from LA put in much work and dedication hoping to get to the level of success that rapper YG has achieved. The end result with most artist today is unsuccessful because they lack proper music, promotion, concepts or grind if not all of the above. When taking a listen to LA Upcomer Mo Stylez Debut Mixtape/Album “Simplicity ” we at Inyaearhiphop thinks he can be the next to blow up from LA.
When streaming the first track off of “Simplicity “, we noticed the soft, mellow build up of the piano, with the soft, melodic strings playing in the background. Instantly, we knew this was going to be good. Most of the melodic, smooth sounding trap production comes from LA Upcomer Producer Blackbox. While listening to the Introduction, Mo Stylez spits some impressive bars, explaining how his team is first place, and how he sacrifices and puts on for his set and brand MSM (Making Success Musically) Records.
Streaming midway through the tape Mo Stylez switches up his flow, fast, then slow, showing he can deliver. “Confident “, which is track six on the album displays Mo Stylez spitting about being confident and as well as informing us all he’s the best MC. This track most definantely stood out to us at Inyaearhiphop. We like how he promoted his MSM brand through fast, uptempo smooth bars on a sick produced beat by Producer Blackbox. On track nine, “Shawty “, Mo brings it to the ladies spitting smooth bars once again, seeing if the ladies out there want to attend his afterparty. This song was also a unique song on the album, with it’s trappy, melodic production from Superstar Beats.
The next track, titled “Maestro ” from Simplicty produced by Blackbox, opens up with a trappy bounce. Mo talks about all his haters and spits some angry, aggressive bars stating how he “got that magic for you motherf*****s.” On the track he also goes on saying how he’s king and how his reign has just begun. Listening to the closing of the album, Mo Stylez continues to deliver great hook concepts and catchy bars. The choice of beats and features from local artists amazed us at Inyaearhiphop. We give this album a 8 out of 10 stars.
The combination of Mo Stylez and Producer Blackbox did remind us of the combination Dj Mustard and YG have. The senario is very similiar both artist and producer are from LA and both artist and producer brings heat. Mo stylez can be next up, We think his next project should have less features and more of him, thirteen tracks with six, seven features is a bit much but his ambitious and hugry attitude on Simplicity made up for it. - Inyaearhiphop.com
If he’s not killing shows, then he’s somewhere in the studio laying down tracks. On his new short bar filled freestyle to “Panda”, Mr. Turnupforever aka Mo Stylez shows why he’s one of the many emerging talented artist coming from the West Coast. With a chopped up, altered thumper from producer Black Box, and savvy wordplay from Mo Stylez, this is just one remix you can’t help but play back to back. - musiconthedot.com
When it comes to putting in work, LA native Mo Stylez is no stranger to the grind. On his latest freestyle of Desiigners popular hit “Panda,” Mo Stylez hits us with some braggadocious bars over a reworked Black Box production. The LA spitter has a project in working progress, so this little appetizer should definitely hold us over. Hit that play button below and enjoy Panda!!! - inyaearhiphop.com
