We had Miller Searcy at our sailing club event. Here are a couple of comments received from members about their appearance:

I've had Miller Searcy at my restaurant on Carlyle Lake several times out on the back deck. Their music is presented in a way that is fun for my patrons and pleasant for everyone. Miller is Bavarian, whereas Searcy's roots are actually from northern Germany (Plough Deutsch). Bavarians are a people known for their robust lifestyle. They are either planning, having, or cleaning up after a party. Miller Searcy are honored to channel the spirit of the most productive people on the planet who bring you Mercedes, BMW, and beer!!! "Zum Wohl" ya'll!!!
Miller Searcy are two performers who played together in different groups for years and decided to get together to make music fun. The tact transcended to those who come out to see and even to those who hire them. Every appearance is assigned a theme of a reason to celebrate, thus you have the reference of what they claim as their Bavarian heritage. If you know the southern part of Germany, you know their lifestyle of working hard, playing hard, and the promotion of a zest to "enjoy life." Gigs to Miller Searcy. represent an honor and privilege to make music in a manner that insures top-notch, fun-oriented music presentation that encourages dance & celebration.

So, what to expect? Attention to detail from:

Song selection/arrangement - from Motown to 80's favorites, Miller Searcy cover it all. Songs have sequenced parts (horns, keyboard, etc) allowing for greater flexibility of song selection. Sequencing is actually a more difficult form of music presentation as musicians have to hit specific, unchangeable markers during song performance. The band especially enjoys playing horn-oriented groups like Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears, and The Ides of March using this format; something that would otherwise not be possible for a duo. As a duo, the band can also perform selections without tracks, but if groups like Rush use sequencing, who are they to look down on the process.
Sound - is by BOSE. That would normally be "nuff said," but Miller Searcy adhere to the concept of "BOSE, used as designed." Units are placed "back-line" meaning they are placed behind the musicians on stage. There are no wedge monitors, no in-ear monitors; nothing separates what the band hears from the audience experience. This allows Miller Searcy to insure the proper mix at a much lower volume. Band members make sure to work together to make the mix right on stage. This arrangement encourages interaction between band members and audience. Overall, the process is a holistically better way to produce and witness live music. As an example, it is a known fact that hearing aids distort loud sounds. The band routinely makes believers out of folks who thought they would never be able to appreciate live music again because of clean, low volume presentation.
Lighting - incorporates the audio sequences to operate an 18 fixture (LED) lighting system controlled by DMX-512 protocol. The colors are vibrant, rich, and digitally sequenced to make sense to the music being performed. Miller Searcy's lighting has the quality of a large production show, for a club-sized scope & budget.
Promotion - insures profitability of the event. Miller Searcy assigns each appearance with a theme to make the event a reason to celebrate. From National Beer Day to St. Patrick's, there is a reason every day to appreciate life.
