Bio

If you travel down I-‐75 through Michigan, you will come up on a small town by the
name of Saginaw. Not known for anything much more than being nationally recognized for violence, basketball, and failed economic hopes. Yet Saginaw is a place called home to many. One of the natives that call Saginaw home is Mike Spitz. Mike Spitz is an American hip-‐hop artist that has been creating quite the buzz to say the least. Spitz has been releasing new music and videos consistently throughout the Mid-‐West, capturing the attention of many top industry insiders.
“Spitzer is just murdering the tracks with his gravelly voice and vicious
delivery. He’s a monster. I love this album, front to back.”— Scott Bejda, Murderdog Magazine
In his early years, Spitz’s parents would play all types of music, from Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, The Doors, to Al Green, and Lynrd Skynrd. Around 1987 Spitz got his first dose of hip-‐hop. “I used to walk down to my neighbors and listen to Beastie Boys all day long. That same year I got Licensed To Ill for my birthday, and it was on.” Over the years his range of music was very diverse. He listened to a lot of NWA, 2pac, DJ Screw, Esham,
Eminem, Dayton Family, Staind, Bone, Sublime, Deftones, Tool, Rage Against The Machine, just to name a few.
Under his nickname “Spitzer”, he released several albums and performed with national recording acts such as Scarface, D-‐12, Too Short, Twista, Bone Thugs-‐N-‐Harmony, Jon Connor, Saliva, and Taproot. He was also the opening act for the legends of hip hop tour. Spitz has recorded tracks with Michigan heavyweights, Esham and the late MC Breed, helping him become one of the top selling independent artist’s from Michigan. Spitz is now working on his fourth album, that he plans on releasing this year, along with five videos to help promote the album. He has dropped his nickname and reinvented himself musically, learning to play guitar and piano while finishing up his degree in audio engineering and business of music. Mike Spitz has
become a force to be reckoned with. Spitz brings a unique raw emotion and real life that is really hard to find in today’s industry. His delivery, tone, and lyricism set him in a league of his own. Spitz wears all the hats when it comes to his music career.
Spitz has been in Murderdog Magazine,HipHopDX,DetroitRap.com, Faygoluvers.com and many other publications. In 2013, he was awarded 5 awards at the Mid Michigan Review Music Awards including hip-‐hop artist of the year. He also received 4 more awards in 2014 including artist of the year as well. Spitz has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. “ I have always been an underdog my whole life, diamond in the ruff.  I’m just a dude that loves to make music. I just want to see where my music will take me, and connect with as many people as possible and continue to grow. We may not have a lot of opportunities and outlets where I’m from, but that isn’t going to stop me from reaching my goals. I already have everything I want in life. Anything else is just a bonus”.
