Michelle Brooks-Thompson, a native of Springfield, MA, is a National Award-Winning Top Billboard Charting Independent Recording Artist, who rose to fame as finalist on season 3 of NBC’s the Voice. As an Independent Recording Artist, Michelle has consistently performed at various indoor and outdoor concert venues, sporting events, private functions, and on notable national TV programs. She has shared the stage with Grammy and Stellar Award-winning Gospel and Secular artists. In addition, she is a songwriter, pianist, vocal teacher, and has been the winner of over 20 vocal competitions! Additionally, she has been awarded several community service awards including the 2023 Black in Excellence on the Hill Award from the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus.
It is her extraordinary voice and striking presence that has captivated audiences, making her rich vocals synonymous with delivering the National Anthem as well as God Bless America at countless major sporting events for the NBA, NFL, MLS, NHL, and MLB! In June 2021, she was the winner of the NCAA College Baseball World Series National Anthem singer competition. In March 2011, she was also the winner of the first annual Boston Red Sox “Sing Your Way to Fenway” competition, beating 121 singers across 6 New England States. She has performed at professional sporting games and prestigious events including the 2023 Boston Marathon, 2023 NFL AFC Game(Jaguars vs. Chiefs), 2022 NBA Finals Game 3 (Warriors vs. Celtics) Boston Red Sox (2011-present), Boston Celtics (2014-present/ current NBA playoffs), New England Patriots (2014-present), 2022 Charlotte FC Inaugural Soccer Match, Boston Bruins, New England Revolution, Kansas City Chiefs, Springfield Thunderbirds, Game 1 of the 2018 MLB World Series (Game 1), NCAA TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl (2021), NCAA Dukes Mayo Bowl (2021), Boston Symphony Orchestra (Boston Pops), MLB Wild Card, ALDS, and ALCS games (2021), NFL AFC game(2014), Massachusetts Democratic National Convention, Annual Travis Manion Foundation Gala, and MANY more. In 2024, she was requested to be the official national anthem singer for the Boston's professional women's hockey league, inaugural season. On April 7th, 2024, she'll perform the National Anthem for the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship game.
In addition to her National Anthem performances, Michelle is multi-winner of several vocal awards and competitions including the 2022 Unsung Heroes ($15,000), 2019 Keene Idol ($10,000) , and the 2017 the legendary Showtime Amateur Night at the Apollo ($20,000) to name a few. Her 2022 radio single “Never Give Up First” landed at number 1 on the Music Billboard Gospel Internet Charts (5 weeks) and on the Music Billboard Gospel Indicator Top 30 Chart at #11 (15 weeks), landing a nomination on the ballot in the first round of the 2023 Grammy and Dove Music Awards.
Michelle’s vocal ability has allowed her to release quality music in multiple genres such as Gospel, Smooth Jazz, Inspirational, and R&B Soul. Her latest music projects which include the singles “Never Give Up” (2022), “Phenomenal” (2022), and “Woman First” (2021), have charted consecutively on the music Billboards (Adult R&B Top 100 Chart, Gospel Billboard Indicator Top 30 Charts, Gospel Top 50 Internet Radio Chart, Smooth Jazz Top 100 Chart, Billboard National Airplay Chart, and Billboard Gospel Indicator Most Added Chart). Additional singles “Then I Met You” (2022), “Woman First”, and “Live It Up” (2021) charted on the Top 30 UK Soul Music Charts reaching #1, Amazon UK Top 100 New Releases, iTunes UK and Brazil Top 100 R&B Releases, and other reputable International Top 100 music charts.
For the last 11 years Michelle has consistently been requested to perform the National Anthem for all major sporting teams across the NHL, NFL, MLB, MLS. This has included games and special ceremonies. Michelle released her official recorded version of the US National Anthem in July 2021 which has reached over 105k streams.

Michelle delivers an incredible one-woman tribute show with her LIVE 9 piece Band under the musical direction of Berklee College of Music Ensembles Professor, Mark Copeland. The 2 hour high-energy concert features the hit songs of Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, Patti Labelle and other female powerhouse vocalists! It’s an unforgettable concert that pays homage to the timeless music of many voices that we miss, with note for note renditions, accented with Michelle’s powerful signature sound! PLEASE NOTE: This show is modified for performances at venue without the LIVE band. Concert is 60-75 minutes with professional backing tracks.
