Growing up in the Wilmington / Wrightsville area of North Carolina Michael Eakins is no stranger to the local scene, especially when it comes to the music.
You can find Michael on any given night playing at one of the many venues around the east coast.Either as front man for various bands from the area supporting acts such as The Wailers, Expendables, Expanders, Badfish, Tribal Seeds, Hirie, Iration & Collie Budz or as a solo artist performing at Blue Bird cafe in Nashville, TN with Hunter Hayes, Keith Walker, and artists that have written for Rascal Flatts & Hank Williams. He has also performed with some heavy hitting talent such as Mishka, Zach Deputy and Rusted Root.
No matter if Michael is playing at a small local bar or a bigger venue like The House of Blues, his soulful voice and meaningful songwriting paired with his harmonious melodies allows your mind to drift away to a place of musical bliss.
With beliefs that nature and a healthy mindset helps you stay well grounded, Michael has also performed at multiple Yoga Festivals and non-profit events.
Along with working diligently on his 3 track EP being his first ever solo release (EP Complete name) mixed and mastered by E.N. Young is set to come out on
(exact date). Micheal has also been hands on in his using his platform with music to help strengthen his community and the surrounding areas.
Playing at Hurricane benefits in 2018 after extreme damage was laid upon his town by Hurricane Florence, when he is not working on music he works rebuilding storm damaged docks along the coastline.Being a surfer he is very passionate about the sea and is currently coordinating “Sustain The Sound Music Festival” taking place on April 27th in Wilmington.Proceeds going to ocean conservation.
Micheal’s love for nature and music has pushed him to travel all over meeting many talented artist along the way.
You are able to clearly hear how transverse his music style is by listening to collaborative tracks such as “Here I am” Feat Hannah Kol produced by Grammy Winner James Waddell in Nashville, TN.
