YES!... like the Mexican drink... Strong, Flavorful, and unique, MEZCAL DE ALICIA is the perfect example of a Latin Alternative band formed by 7 pro-musicians from Mexico, U.S.A. & Latin America blending their Caribbean roots with Pop/Ska elements resulting in a fun, upbeat, dynamic concept suitable for all ages.
ALICIA CASTRO (Lead Vocal) captivates the audience with her strong voice and stage presence. Born in Long Beach, California, and raised between Mexicali (Mexico) and El Centro (U.S.A.) She brings her background singing traditional Mexican music adding a particular sound to the band.
ENZO VILLAPAREDES (2nd voice, trumpet, producer, and musical director) hails from Venezuela where his primary foundation was classical music at the age of 6 for almost 2 decades, in 1994 he moved to Los Angeles where he worked with many well-known artists such as Earth, Wind & Fire Experience feat Al McKay, Frankie Valli and the 4 seasons, Juan Gabriel, Joan Sebastian, Franco D' Vita, Oscar D' León, among MANY others in that level... besides numerous placements of his original music on TV shows, movies, commercials, etc... making sure the quality of MDA is up to that standard.

MEZCAL DE ALICIA was formed by Alicia and her cousins at the end of the 1990s as a fun band, re-arranging old songs with new grooves to make them fun... the teenager's band played all around southern California at clubs and venues full of people but shortly ended. In 2018 Alicia and Enzo coincided with many local bands in L.A. where the idea lighted up again, reuniting the group, doing original songs, and bringing their music to the next level.
Since then, MEZCAL DE ALICIA has performed multiple times not just in the U.S. but Mexico and as of now receiving invitations to other countries in South America and Europe (working on it).
Our band is not just about of our groovy music, but our message in each song about fun, love, happiness, and positive topics.
Our goal is to bring harmony among all human races through music, which is probably the strongest vehicle to reunite multiple audiences from different ethnicities, languages, etc... to dance under the same roof.
7 musicians form the band from different nationalities and countries, this is part of the blending of cultures, mixing our Latin-American roots with the world.
In a few words... MEZCAL DE ALICIA is that flavor that we all need.
