Metane, a very talented and passionate artist from Bloomington IL. He has a undefined and undeniable grace that no one genre can match. His new self titled album is meant for all to relate and understand. As a song like "Lost Religion" circulates through the cyber world, Metane is giving you a invite to learn who he is a musical genius. Coming off a dope performance at the 1st Annual MVP Underground Festival in St. Louis and appearance/contestant on the BET newest show #OneShot, Metane is a force from another galaxy. You would be a fool not to be following and purchasing his new album from all online music stores. - Mos Precious Promotions and Productions
Metane started his writing at the young age of 12 and started performing just a couple years after . Since then, he has shared the stage with many artist, appeared on the nationally syndicated show “Americas Got Talent”, BET’s “One Shot” hosted by Sway, and has put out multiple projects with his latest self titled album “Metane” which can be found everywhere digitally. Since his release of “Metane” a video for “Lost Religion” emerged. This song is about how people have lost their way due to the everyday struggle and have been caught in the “motions” of life. This song relates to the peoples struggle from suicide, life as a single mother, death and even touches on matters on his own life. Although the song touches on struggle, it also has a powerful message on hope and the faith that things will change for the better. The message, the words and visual all compliment eachother very well which shows he certainly has what it takes to become a major positive staple in this industry.

Time to Get Hip With DJ Mos Precious #RealMVP
I am pleased and grateful to be able to bring you an one on one interview with Midwest next to blow star, Metane.
MP: Can you tell our readers a little about yourself? What’s your name and where are you from?
My name is Metane and I was born in STL but spent most of my life in Bloomington IL. That’s where I started rapping at the age of 12 and met a lot of the people I do music with now.
MP: Let us know what your social media is. How can we find you?

Pandora – Metane Radio
And new released self titled album “Metane” Available everywhere digitally.
MP: How did music come about in your world?
Music came into my world at an early age. My mother and grandfather always sang and played Blues, RNB Jazz, Funk so through them I became “Hip” to the tunes. Then got into hip hop in the 90’s and once I picked up the pen in 6th grade I can never put it down.
MP: What do you find most challenging about the music industry? most complicated?
The most challenging part is that EVERYONE raps or wants to be a rapper and because of that views have become skewed and not everyone takes it seriously as before. “Oh he’s just another rapper”. So its a constant fish for the right ears to hear you but it makes it all worth it.
MP: Tell me about some of the people you’ve met while performing? some of the people you wish to meet during your journey?
Some of the people I’ve met since I started performing have been Bone crusher, Nick Cannon, KXNG Crooked, Dj King Tech, Twista, Tech 9, Sway and many MANY dope artists stretching from the Midwest down to the south. Some people I wish to meet on this Journey are Eminem, Erykah Badu, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Elle Varner and man so many more.
MP: What do you do when you aren’t recording or rehearsing your music?
If I’m not recording I’m drawing, reading, watching Marvel movies and t.v. shows or just spending time with family and friends.
MP: How do you keep coming up with dope music? Any inspirations?
Life is a HUGE experience and it allows me to keep inspired. Greatest gift God gave me was life, and the second is this passionate gift for music and I use every bit of it to stay inspired and fired up.
Take a brief moment and watch “Upward Feeling” before you continue to read the interview.
MP: What has been the most challenging moment in your career and why?
When I almost quit. I was going through some pretty dark times and almost put down the microphone. It was challenging to find my spark back and to kick it back in gear but once I realized my purpose in life, it was easy to pick it back up and go hard while keeping God first.
MP: Do you have anyone that has influenced you in your career? Who and Why?
My mother and grandfather because of their love for music. Plus tons of Soul music and 90’s hiphop was a great jump start to a lot of my influences.
MP: Where do you see yourself in the next couple of years?
I see myself finally being able to grace the stage with Kendrick, J. Cole and artists on that stature.
MP:
Is the anyone you would like to give a shoutout to?
God, my mother, my whole FTGU and Animal Houze fam. Mrs. Tomlin and Mr. Rumps, KXNG Crooked, BLOOMINGTON IL and everyone that’s ever supported me. Yall keep me moving and I have mad love and gratitude for you all.
Anything else you want to drop on us before we get out of here? Any Breaking News or Exclusives?
Stay tuned and follow the Journey…something exciting is coming very VERY soon, and I can’t wait for y’all to see it - DJ Mos Precious
