Bio
MentalGen is an eclectic mix of east coast based musicians hailing from across the United States. The band uses hardcore guitar lines, funky synth parts, and a thumping rhythm section to drive the music forward in a manner sure to draw in the audience. Inspired by artists such as Led Zeppelin and Alanis Morissette, MentalGen is a modern take on classic rock injected with folk fusion. They combine hard-core and funk grooves, Styx-like harmonies, and guitar solos with the narrative spin of titans like Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Van Halen. What began as a continuation of Jack's work under his own name quickly took on a life of its own, adding blues and bubble gum metal to the unique combination that makes their sound. They have performed live at the C Note in Hull, O'Brien's Pub in Allston, Brooklyn Music Kitchen, Oaken Performance Hall in Virginia, and a multitude of other venues all across the east coast. The band is represented by KI Talent Collective.
