Biography
The distinctive rap and hip hop artist Majick AKA The Rollin Stoner began doing music when he was only 6 years old. He received his name from his uncle who wrote his lyrics from jail and encouraged the dynamic rapper to call himself “Majick.” The Rollin Stoner never understood why his uncle called him this but today “Majick” means, “Making something out of nothing.” The Houstonian artist fulfills his name in every song he writes and performs, priding himself on only discussing real life events and changing his flow patterns every time regardless of the beat.
Majick realized his passion for music when he won a freestyle contest against adults ages 18 and up while he was only 11 years old. From then on, he decided he wanted to make music for the rest of his life and share his “magic” with the rest of world. He learned how to navigate the politics of the music industry from his mentors who are also his older cousins. He later began doing shows with them at clubs, but it wasn’t until he was 19 years old that he started producing solo performances and has been performing ever since. His most recent performance was at The Empire Control Room in Austin, Texas. When Majick is performing, he is so invested in delivering a quality set that the crowd has no choice but to listen and join in and become a part of his world.
Majick gives you lyrical attributes that expands his range beyond the traditional sounds of southern rap and hip hop. His music remains true to its roots in the southern rap/hip hop traditions but he is also able to blend different features from other genres of music to create a unique and unforgettable sound. Since he was raised listening to diverse musical tastes such as classic soul, funk, and blues, you will never know what to expect from this artist. Majick has done collaborations on projects with J Dawg from Boss Hogg Outlaws, Mellow Man Ace, a former Cypress Hill member, and Cazal Organism who is currently signed to Delicious Vinyl Records. He is a very dedicated artist who is committed to working hard and this work ethic is evident in all 8 of his mixtapes that he has released since 2010.
