Versatility and unpredictability is why they call him Mag1k (born Thomas Marbury). When he was 18, he got the name not only because of his hometown of “magic city” Birmingham Alabama, but also being able to adapt to many situations, interested in a broad variety of topics that he incorporates into his music. A futuristic way of singing combining catchy melodies with his cadence is what he does best. When you listen to a song by Mag1k, you hear melodies with a wide range of notes as he raps over his diverse set of instrumentals that can be played both in the club or in the streets.
His track record includes a soon to be released single with artist Tory Lanez, touring with Lil Baby and B La B, engineering music for Quality Control artists such as B La B, Renni Rucci, Kollision, Jas, Lil Baby, Lil Marlo and G5. He has also collaborated as an artist with QC arists B La B, Renni, Rucci, Jas and 2JTheRichest.
His influences range from the soulful sound of James Brown to the showmanship and vocal talents of MIchael Jackson. Growing up he was surrounded by music and learned to sing at an early age but it was when he was attending school at Shelton State College Tuscaloosa, AL did he begin to record music out of his dorm room with a local producer. He soon learned he had a knack for making music that the college crowd could vibe to.
