Bio
Luis Saavedra is a freelance performer, composer and educator in Orlando, Florida. He has performed with prestigious ensembles such as The Flying Horse Big Band, and the University of Central Florida’s Saxophone Ensemble and Quartets, where he has studied under the direction of highly esteemed educators, Jeff Rupert and George Weremchuk. He has been a regular performer at Universal Studios and often plays with contemporary music groups around Orlando such as Tef London, the Jonnie Morgan Band, Tef London, and ISM.
The Singer/Songwriter Association of Central Florida also nominated Luis for Best Musician in 2013. He has had the pleasure of performing in the Broadway musical, Chicago the Musical on the Florida leg of its National Tour. He has performed in several venues around Florida including, The House of Blues, The Social, The Naples Philharmonic and the historic Plaza Theater. Luis can currently be found performing regularly in jazz, funk, R&B, ska, reggae and Latin groups around the state.
Luis Saavedra has also appeared on UCF's, Flying Horse Big Band on the professional studio records, "The Blues is Alright," and "Into the Mystic," playing first reed on both albums.Band Members
