Lovers Touch

Lovers Touch is an indie-glam band based in Toronto, known for their high-energy performances and catchy tunes reminiscent of decades past. “I Need It” is the fourth single released off forthcoming EP How Does It Make You Feel. It brings you into deep nostalgia for the ultra cheesy 80’s glam-metal era, even if that genre was never something you particularly enjoyed in the first place. The Van Halen inspired synth line drove the creation of the track, causing all of the remaining elements to fall in line with the playful 80’s vibe. Bassist Noah O’Neil explains “Lyrically it has sort of a coming of age theme. It’s about moving from your hometown and reminiscing about the love that you left behind.” Keep an eye on their coming of age story as they release an accompanying music video next month, sure to pull you even deeper into your 80’s nostalgia. - Spill New Music

When you’re working that ‘Nine to Five,’ sometimes a Lovers Touch is all you need to get you through. Luckily, they’re right here – with a brand new fuzzed-out single for your listening pleasure.

But, ‘Nine to Five’ isn’t about work, as the title suggests; it’s a dreamy love ballad about devoting your hours and dedication to another:

“Nine to five is a metaphor for wanting to devote your time to someone,” explains singer Shane Hooper. “There are so many love songs already written, you wonder how you can enter that arena without sounding repetitive. But there is always room for another one. That feeling of yearning, when you have it, is brand new.”

Sonically, it’s all lush synth waves and dreamy love-soaked vox, floating over the soundscape as downtempo beats roll a soft but sure rhythm – But visually, it takes bedroom pop to a whole new level, with the Canadian trio sat performing in a dreamy white-wash of a bedroom in mesmerising head-bop unity. - Born Music

Credit where it’s due: Falsetto is hard to pull off without sounding like a whiny middle schooler, but on “Found a Friend,” the highlight from Something Songs by Lovers Touch, it’s super effective, and makes for a light and comforting three minutes. Toronto-based band Lovers Touch recently released “I Need It”, a track described as glam metal, pop and dad rock mixed together.

The anthemic synth melody and the guitar riffs takes you right back in time. The 80’s vibe brings to mind the old movies and TV shows we used to watch during our childhood. Their music and style also definitely reminds me of our very own Mouth Breather. This very groovy song, old-timey but still nifty, will cheer you up at any time.

Hailing from British Columbia, Lovers Touch play some fantastic, smooth as silk folk rock. Supposedly “inspired by dad music,” their brand of soft, detailed soul/folk is actually incredibly youthful and earnest. “Found a Friend” is effervescent, almost innocent in its sense of wonder and play.
