Lipstick Jodi is “a three piece indie alt-pop band out of Grand Rapids, Michigan fronted by guitarist and lead singer Karli Morehouse.” Eclectic and electric, the spooky intro leads into a sultry chorus full of big, sweeping emotion and soft vocals. A definite staple to any Stranger Things soundtrack lover mixed with Lorde meets MØ, Lipstick Jodi’s single “do/SAY” holds it’s own with interesting beats, a “smashed glass attitude” and sensual vocals. Listen to the track below and stream it on Spotify along with their other songs. - PREMIERE
Three-piece indie alt-pop band out of Grand Rapids, Lipstick Jodi, has new music to share. In the Midwest Action video premiere of “Don’t Wanna Know,” loud, foreboding synths introduce the track, setting the tone and leading into creeping verses. The chorus bursts with emotion as lead singer Karli Morehouse screams, surrounded by swirling guitar melodies, rapid fire synthesizer, and a colorful display of lights. “Don’t Wanna Know” is a dynamic track, dropping most instrumentation at the bridge and emphasizing the power of Morehouse’s chorus.
Dark and dance-y, “Don’t Wanna Know” is filled with hooks that I absolutely wanna know. Get to know them yourself, and watch the music video below:
Lipstick Jodi is lead by Karli Morehouse on vocals/guitars/keys with Andy Fettig on keys/bass/vocals and Connor Middlebrook on drums. Keep your eyes open for new releases in the coming year. - Midwest Action
