Lions & Liars

“Vintage Pop Rock from the ages, for the ages!” – Yes! Weekly

Hailing from Winston-Salem, NC, Brothers Colton Brown, lead vocals, and Spencer Brown, drums and percussion, teamed up with long time friends and brothers Graham Howard, lead guitar and piano, and Philip Howard, bass, to form Lions & Liars in 2010.

Blending catchy guitar melodies with thunderous drum beats and passionately charismatic vocals, L&L quickly found their niche by touring around the local club and college scene giving their audience the best of classic Rock N' Roll back with a charming new twist.

“This quartet was quirky and punky and showed their youthful zeal in their songs.” - Camel City Dispatch, January 19, 2013

2011, though, proved to be a bench mark year for when they hit the studio and released their debut EP The Beginning, featuring Headin’ West. The EP caught traction and landed them a gig opening up for world renowned DJ GIRLTALK, in front of 3000 college students at High Point University and opening up for 80’s rock band Bullet Boys in VA. In September, L&L caught another big break to perform at Winston-Salem’s city music festival ROCK THE BLOCK event that boosted over 2000 individuals in attendance.

Feeding off of 2011 accomplishments, L&L teamed up with Doug Davis of Flytrap Studios in Winston-Salem to record their first full-length album. Blending acoustic-rock with indie pop the band released The Distance Between Us with a diverse album featuring a retooled Headin’ West and other popular songs such as Rest Easy and Celebration.

Using the success of their album boosted them to become 2013 Band of the Year at Forsyth County Entertainment Awards.

All of Lions & Liars hard work and dedication has led them to go back into the studio to record their second full-length album with newly added members and friends, Connor Overbey on rhythm guitar and Ryan Zanardi on keys/rhythm guitar.
