Somewhere between music and poetry, between plea and demand, between cry and whisper is the essence of Limberlost and all that it envelops. Although infinitely more than the sum of its parts, the musical collective is made up of the emotional vocal and keyboard stylings of Jack Darby, the enticing guitar-work and silvery harmonies of Mark Stephenson, the fluid bass groove of Justin Retsinas, and the powerful and precise drumming of Stefan Tomala. With influences ranging from Dylan to The Decemberists, The Kinks to The Kooks, and heartbreak to rye, the band is collectively self-described as folk rock for lack of a more descriptive niche. Within the vast dynamic breadth of each song is something honest and intimate; something that reels in the listener and grips tightly without ceasing.
