Bio
Lee Reed is a Hamilton OG and a respected veteran of the Canadian Indie music scene. For over 20 years he's been stomping stages and studios, spewing his unique brand of fiery, anti-capitalist rant-hop. From mouthpiece for the legendary punk-hop greats Warsawpack, through to his solo work.. Reed has left a dark krylon tag across the landscape of the nation's Indie HipHop scene, and a jumbo fuel tanker on the fire of revolutionary music worldwide. He's toured extensively, and warmed the stage for some serious industry heavyweights, including.. Bad Religion, Mos Def, Feist, Alexisonfire, Protest the Hero, Death From Above, Saul Williams, Fishbone, Roots Manuva, K-OS, The Sadies.. and a long list of other big name artists still wondering what became of their backstage veggie platter & beer stash. He's rocked pubs & nightclubs; house shows & rec centres; parades & blockades; reservations, demonstrations & occupations; and some of the nation's finest festivals.. Hillside, Pop Montreal, Halifax Pop, Supercrawl, Harvest Picnic, Under the Volcano, Kazoo!, Scene, CMW, NXNE, etc. He's had features & interviews with CBC Radio 1, 2 & 3; Much Music; Exclaim!; Now; The Georgia Straight; The View and most of the City weeklies from Halifax to Victoria. He's released 7 recordings, including 4 solo releases, that have all hit #1 on local campus radio charts. And he's amassed a sizeable pile of trophies, plaques, certificates, hugs & handpounds.. and a well-beaten trail of free couch parking from Mi'kma'ki to Coast Salish. Reed's most recent release "The Butcher, The Banker, The Bitumen Tanker" spent 14 weeks on the National Campus Top-10 HipHop charts, with 2 weeks in the #1 spot, ending 2015 as the nation's #6 HipHip Album.
