Lee Durham

Lee Durham is a rapper from Columbia, SC that has been making his presence known with his melodic mixture of hip hop and R&B vibes delivered in his unmatched voice. Lee’s interest in music initially started with him playing the viola in elementary school as a requirement. He later started to battle rap in high school on the bus ride to track meets and football games. That competition with his peers turned into a passion to deliver his word play over beats. Zillanoise has described Durham as having “a melodic sound and euphoric lyrics.” He has also been featured in other blogs such as Beat Spill and Vann Digital.

Lee spends the bulk of his time writing and recording music. He’s released a couple of songs such as “No Pressure” and “Free S***” which are available for listen on Sound Cloud, as well as a few features. He is currently attempting to organize a tour for the “Shades of Blue, Too” project, which will be dropping this Autumn. Durham was one of the acts at SXSW this year and has won a spot to perform at A3C via fan voting and music plays.

Lee has performed around Atlanta a lot despite being from South Carolina, and has had shows with some common names on the Atlanta rap scene such as K Camp, Sy Ari, Quentin Miller and TheCoolisMac.

Although people have compared Durham’s music to that of the like of Big Sean and Talib Kweli, he thinks those are just the vibes the music gives people. His voice is unique and unlike anything out now. His music gives a nostalgic feeling with balance allowing the everyday dichotomy of being human to play a big part in the music; showing that there is always more than one side to anything.
