Meanwhile, on the West Coast, Anchorage's Lauren Owens, 10, is making waves, according to her agent. (She's represented by Acme Talent Agency, said to be one of the top 10 agencies in L.A. for young performers.)
She impressed Hollywood music producer Pete Amato, who is looking for a "Hannah Montana type" to record his songs. The agent's press release continues:
"After just one recording session, Pete called Lauren's manager and said, 'This kid is a superstar.' Since then, Lauren has begun to work on two new songs with Pete and will be returning to the recording studio next week to begin recording her new songs.
"The word on the street is that this girl could be the next Disney star."

Bio
Lauren Dair is a 19 year old singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. Growing up, Lauren always had a deep passion for music, but it wasn't until she moved to Los Angeles to be an actress that she began writing and recording her own music. When she was 12 years old, Lauren got the part playing Young Jess on the hit FOX show "New Girl" playing the flashbacks of Zooey Deschannel.
At the same age, Lauren wrote and recorded her first EP, "No Apologies." This experience started a chain reaction of pure creativity. Lauren started the band Gravity Hill, who toured all over California and playing world famous venues such as the Roxy, the Troubadour, and the Las Vegas Strip. With a hard hitting alternative-rock sound, Gravity Hill started to make their mark on Southern California. When the band dissolved in early 2015, Lauren questioned what her next step would be. Using her alternative roots as an influence, Lauren decided to take her love for acoustic singer/songwriter music and mix it with the vibey, moody sound that is heard in many of her favorite bands.
Her third EP, "Perfectly Flawed", is a departure from anything else she's ever done. Every song is filled with catchy hooks and deep lyrics. As a hopeless romantic, paints a visual picture of loving yourself on days where it seems impossible and loving those who can’t return the favor. From describing a co-dependent, abusive relationship in “Monster,” to “Mine,” a heartbreaking ballad about unrequited love, Lauren presents each of these topics from personal experience with with much heart and truth as humanly possible.
