Bio
Nineteen ninety – eight marked the beginning of a musical journey for Lorraine. Forever having the love of music, she finally applied that love into the media of turntables. For the following three years, she began playing raves and clubs in her home town of Albuquerque, NM. Her style of music developed into a menagerie of hard and soulful techno. In 1999 she became the co-founder of Urban Tek Productions. As part of the tag team, Beauty and the East, Lorraine began gigging in El Paso, TX, Rockford IL, & Green Bay, WI. opening up for Keoki, Omar Santana, Bad Boy Bill On her own, she was playing with the likes of Frankie Bones, Joey Beltram, Juan Atkins, T-1000, Green Velvet.
In 2001 she was blessed with her very own live mix show on the NM statewide radio station, 88.3 Massive Radio The show was called “The Vibe” and for an hour every Friday night, she pumped the airwaves with the best Inspirational tracks around. As well as serving as an air jock for the station. Two thousand and two brought a year of firsts for 25 year old Lorraine. With the help of producer/singer/songwriter, Joey Beville from the band The Echoing Green, she produced her first track “Givin It Back”. After sending out a demo cd to dj/producer Dj Scott Blackwell, she was billed for the week long festival, Cornerstone in 2002 and in 2003. In doing so, she became the first female dj ever to perform at Cornerstone. At that time, Lorraine became the first female dj on Scott’s label MYX Records. That summer they collaborated to create the 12’ single “Immaculate Intoxication,” found on her mix cd “Reverence,” which was then remixed by Sheltershed, Axon and Faith Massive. From 2002-2005 she was the promoter and resident dj of The Light Club. The Light Club was a non-alcoholic night club that brought in dj’s and bands of all genres of music, from the house bumpin sounds of Roy Davis Jr. to the hard rockin likes of Disciple. She’s was also a part of a collaboration of sister dj’s in Albuquerque called LadyDj’s and a resident at Sundaze and the Zia Dinner in Santa Fe. Beginning January 2003, Lorraine became the vj/producer/editor of YTV’s first dance show, Club Lyt, held at The Light Club. "I needed to step away from the night life to focus on who I was spiritually and seriously reconsider who I was as an artist." Lorraine began her new direction with a new name, Laladee, and her first project as a Pro Legend producer. In 2010, Lorraine completed four remixes on the Alumni’s limited edition LP “Reinvented”. 2011 was another year of firsts for Lorraine. She joined Pro Legend artists "The Alumni" singing back up vocals and some features on their album "Perfect Man". This allowed her to perform on stage with a live band which she had never done before. The release of "Love" from that album gave the opportunity for Lorraine to be heard on the airwaves . She soon released her debut single and first music video "Eve In Me". 2013 marked the year of Lorraine's first official radio single and second music video "Tainted Crown" under the name of the Unparel for Save the City Records."In all the time of exploring other avenues of music, I really felt I lost who I was. I decided that I would step away from those things that took me away from my love of electronic music and focus on my skills as a vocalist and electronic music producer." It was during this time of refocusing that she was picked up by the label Export Elite as a vocalist. Her first release with Export Elite “Ashes” was remixed by amazing producers from all over the world and even gained a number 4 spot on the Beatport “Glitch Hop” charts, bringing it to the #21 spot of the Beatport's Top 100 Electro House Releases. The next release with Export Elite was with Prefekt titled "Move Me" that featured remixes from Bloom and the Magnetic Brothers. From that release grew a friendship between she and the Russian based Magnetic Brothers. She was asked to feature a track on their album "8". The track was titled "Confession" and gained support from Solarstone on his show Pure Trance Radio as well as a complete remix project from the duo. Laladee also enjoyed several more releases with Export Elite. "Falling Away", "Capture" and "Illusions" which was remixed by the Muttonheads. In 2018 she joined with long time friend and constituent Coco Street to form their own record label "Coco Lala Records" and to from the group Cola Cola. The groups first releases are set to drop the beginning of October. Laladee will be releasing her first official techno releases as a producer at the same time. In full pursuit of her roots, Laladee has begun a techno podcast titled "Lala en Noir" to be able to showcase her skills as a techno dj and give a platform to play out her tracks.
