One for the uber hipster in you. Krychek literally just released his debut album, and his Chvrches-meets-NiN sound will fill the space perfectly between coffees. - BuzzFeed
DJ-turned-electronic majesty Krychek has dropped his debut album, the self-titled and phenomenal Krychek. But far from a typical electropop/electrorock venture, it’s an album that stands at odds with popular themes of the genre.
The main point of this would be the high-note vocal emphasis that has become strangely prominent in the electropop genre. High vocals have become all the rage, from dance track guest vocalists to acts like Chvrches employing them against a swirling backdrop of synths. Then there’s Krychek, whose vocals are soothingly deep and don’t attempt to follow the high-note herd.
And surprise, surprise: it works really well.
What this goes to show is that Krychek is a talent. Every track on his debut is perfectly crafted and hypnotically addictive, and it manages this without following hugely popularised techniques. It even refuses the soft sheen of typical electropop production and takes a grittier stance, feeling a lot like Nine Inch Nails making a pass at the genre.
From the intense percussive crashings of opening track Heist to the darkpop anthem that is Lesson Burned (which even Krychek recognises as arguably the album’s most immediately radio-friendly track, as two – also great – remixes lurk at the end of the track listing), this is something different. This is the undisputed strength that has been missing from electropop for some time, evident in the evolution of intensity that is Forever Young. Krychek is all about intensity, strength and determination, carried by gritty and semi-industrial instruments.
But to pin this as just a strong take at electropop would be to discredit it and do a disservice to Krychek. He ventures outside of the camp as much as is artistically viable without harming the flow of the release. Second track Hampton Road is a blistering indie-enfused rock track that only in retrospect is strikingly different – placed as the second track, no listener could identify the contrast on first listen. As the album closes with the gentler half-ballad that is Moments In Time, it feels like the natural collapse into silence. Nothing out of the ordinary here.
With little foreshadowing, Krychek’s debut stands without argument as one of the best albums a new artist released in 2015. If you’re still stuck for a new year’s resolution, giving this LP the attention and respect it truly deserves is definitely a worthwhile one. - Fresh Beats 365
Often confused with the idea of self pleasure, the Ego is a construction popularized as the hungry, spirit-consuming, haughty side kick of celebrities, mall cops, and guys who drive hummers (but lack the *cough* weaponry). In reality, Freud's 'Ego' is simply a balance between animal instinct and moral conscience; the angel & devil whispering over your shoulder. Caught between these warring mentalities, New York's favorite psychonaut, Krychek, recently emerged from months of silence with an EP so aptly named.
The 'Ego' EP is a three song offering of darkened, indie-funk with a conflicted demeanor. His first vocal endeavor, Krychek's tortured wail careens through the collection, tied down with equally stricken guitar licks and distorted basslines. One of his more well-crafted productions to date, the title song cuts apart the tracklist as a standout ballad, dark and groovy. Arielle Tayar, joins him for the closing, 'Sychophant,' adding her female siren to the haunting April release. Our minds will always fight with human nature, but it's best to just sit back, pop those headphones in each ear, and let your angel (or demon) listen in.

- Pick Up the Head Phones

Stop, drop and synth pop! Krychek & Kento collab for a gorgeous summer track. For some reason, in the slightest way, the guitar makes me think of the Cranberries’ hit “Dreams”, and that is just the best. - Magnetic Magazine
NYC's Krychek recently sent us his latest self titled EP + new DJ Mix The Kronicles of Krychek: Le Cinquième. The DJ mix is a deep house lover's dream come true and is available as a free download, but what really caught my attention is his own original music. Instrumental, electronic, dance goodness with a little 80's flair. He even named one of the tracks "John Hughes". Digging all 4 of the tracks, so thought I'd share with our fine readers. Maybe he will make fans of you as well. Check it... - Off the Radar
Pretty sure there is no connection to a tennis player with a similar name here. I’ll stick with the theme though. Because obviously, she IS here. So and Krychek served his new EP the other day – and it’s fourty-love, absolutely great. Four tracks, electro pop’y, great rhythm. This is the opener She’s Here – which is more on the dreamy end of it (obviously). The whole EP is up for streaming on Soundcloud. Game, set and match – Krychek. - Pouledor
So we got a submission from this NYC producer, Krychek, who has a new 4-tracker out on Scotch and Murder Music. Listening through, it sounded like another artist operating in the ever-crowded deep house arena of music that has been trail-blazed by Julio Bashmore, Disclosure, and Pictures Music as of late. Which is not to say it was bad, but wasn’t exactly doing anything that differently to many others.
But after hearing “Commissioner” the realization came that Krychek’s work might be more akin to Light Asylum, or industrial/soundtrack background tucked away from 1985. The sheen and pop-infused chord progressions are all there, along with that vacuum-compressed beat…but look closer and you’ll see all the hallmarks of a great 80’s pop ballad, a climactic cinematic moment that thrusts its euphoria onto a big, bright shimmering dancefloor. A vocalist would be a worthy addition to these jams, but keep an eye on Krychek for sure… - The Kort

Na mesma época, ele também deve finalizar o vídeo de We Are Fire, segundo o site Pick Up The Headphones.

- it Pop
Krychek, checking in. Wanted to share with you a great new summer track just produced featuring my buddy Kentö. For your #PoolParty :) - Scotch & Murder Music
Modern music has been struck with hipster syndrome – wanting something new, but always turning to the past for reference and seeking comfort in familiarity. It’s why we’ve seen plaid-shirt folk artists storm the charts in recent years for the first significant period of time since the 60s, and also why a lot more electro-tinged artists are using the 80s sounds as huge influences. Just look at CHVRCHES or, even better, look at Krychek.
Krychek has been making waves since he started out in 2015, dropping his self-titled debut LP at the start of 2016 and also keeping busy with equally 80s-reminiscent side-project SIGNAL. It’s not unusual for an artist to have their fingers in multiple musical pies, but it is quite strange for each to be so tasty. Focussing on the man’s solo ventures for now, his unique brand of electro-rock is phenomenally infectious and powerful.
While many 80s retrospective artists will go more poppy in their sound to focus on the cheesiness of the era, Krychek focusses more on the tonality and the sound to achieve a goal – in this case, bringing something much more intense to the table. Sure, he has moments where he’s much more tender and poppy in his sound – his track ‘Cosmic’ is a great example of this – but generally he is on the more abrasive and ruthless side of the electro sphere.
Just listen to ‘Heist’, the opening track from his LP and a clear indication of what makes Krychek different. Retro-tuned synthlines, an instantly distinctive vocal and blistering guitar lines merge together into a soundscape that is atmospheric, moody, oddly intimidating and undeniably infectious. In many ways, Krychek is like a blend between an 80s-enveloped Trent Reznor and a modern electropopstar – his output is raw, but always with a smooth finish and with a perfect balance of passion, pop and power.
Striking such a balance is no easy task and not any artist would be able to do so. Then again, Krychek is no ordinary artist – he’s a different breed of musician, taking something widely sought and turning it into something universally enjoyable. If ever an artist was to deliver us from the hipster-ruled times of infatuation with the past and make us love modern music again, it’s Krychek.
You can hear for yourself by listening to his debut LP on Soundcloud. Alternatively, support him by checking it out on iTunes. - Vulture Hound

Bio
Krychek is the alter-ego passion project of Michael Kisselgof. A reminder by the means of cinematic electro pop of the scene you are terrified to relive. That moment you fell in love. And the time it all fell apart. An inevitable result from the dissatisfaction of DJ'ing NYC clubs and the desire to entertain an audience with an intense live show. Now with all the necessary live elements and the recent release of his first LP, Krychek is ready to put on a powerful synth driven performance.
Members of the band include Krychek on vocals and synthesizers. FJAZZ aka Fernando Arruda on synth and saxophone - formder Neon Hitch DJ and founder of the Manhattan Composers Collective. Colin T. Harte - Former touring bassist for GameDay Regulars. Lawrence Miller on drums - professional drummer with 9 US tour and 2 internationals with the Disconnects and Cousins Larry.
