"Jay Z's Life + Times Kiki Rowe Be Alright (DJ Phresh remix)"

Drake and Justin Bieber may soon have to make way for Canada’s next rising star. Her name is Kiki Rowe and on October 28th, the Mississauga-born singer-songwriter will be releasing her debut album. The project is set to feature production from the likes of DJ Mustard, ASTR and Ivan Barias. Here, she connects with DJ Phresh for the remix to her latest single, “Be Alright.” - Jay Z's Life + Times

"Premiere: Listen to Kiki Rowe's "Trust Issues" (Prod. by DJ Mustard)"

Toronto Pop/R&B artist Kiki Rowe is gearing up to drop her self-titled debut mini-album on Oct. 28, and today she drops the next single off the project "Trust Issues." The slow burning DJ Mustard production kicks off with more of an ethereal sound than expected, but quickly includes some of his legendary claps to put down the foundation for Rowe to croon about falling in love without hesitation.

Rowe recently dropped her "Be Alright" video, and from the looks of it, her career is off to a quick start, so prepare to hear more from her soon. For now, stream "Trust Issues" below and watch an in-studio video of DJ Mustard talking about working with the up-and-coming artist. - Complex

"Kiki Rowe drops sultry 'Look Who's Alone'"

Toronto-based singer-songwriter Kiki Rowe is premiering her ambient, R&B-tinged “Look Who’s Alone” on Tuesday. The slow-burning track, off a potential 2015 collection, blurs the lines between soul, R&B, pop, with atmospheric, electronic finishes was produced by Da SoundBrothers. Rowe dropped her self-titled debut last fall with a track listing that included DJ Mustard, Maino, and Ivan Barias and is a must for fans of what The Weeknd and Frank Ocean are doing in the genre. - Entertainment Weekly

"Premiere: Newcomer Kiki Rowe Releases “Be Alright” Music Video"

Many of today’s most prominent and exciting young artists have emerged from outside of the U.S., and our northern neighbors have birthed a large amount of these acts. A brand new name to add to the list of Canada’s rising stars is Kiki Rowe, who will be releasing her self-titled debut album on October 28.

Featuring songs produced by the likes of DJ Mustard and Ivan Barias (of Carvin & Ivan) the 8 song mini album is recommended for fans of smooth, yet powerful ambient R&B a la The Weeknd and Frank Ocean. The album has been preceded by the lead single, “Be Alright,” which instantly intoxicates with its lush production as Kiki professes the power of the love she is willing to give to her man.

“Babe, wait, listen to the words I’m sayin, it seems like me and you be fadin, this ain’t a little game I played in,” she softly coos. The cinematic visual plays off the songs commanding allure and emotion as a camera follows Kiki around the balcony of her building at dawn.

Born Keandra Shan Lal and raised in Mississauga, Kiki’s given name draws origins from the term “inspirational writer.” In addition to songwriting, which draws heavy influences from Usher and Tori Kelly, Kiki is also an accomplished pianist, taking first place in Ontario’s Conservatory of Music for Best Piano Composition in 2009.

"Eight Canadian indie artists to watch for"

Kiki Rowe: This 19 year-old Canadian R&B singer-songwriter has all of the ingredients for a bright future. Her ethereal and emotive tone, coupled with youthfully-themed lyrics, give her a sound that is seductive and timely. An accomplished pianist, Rowe fuses elements of hip-hop, soul, and electronica to create what I like to call the “groove-du-jour” for 2015. Her self-titled debut, which drops in October, contains eight of her own compositions plus a bonus track. For some, that’s an album, but for Rowe, who is constantly writing, it’s a “mini album”. The lead single “Be Alright” recently premiered on Pop Justice, where she was compared to Jessie Ware and Tiaan. - Metro Toronto

"Listen: Kiki Rowe – ‘Be Alright’"

Kiki Rowe is a new Toronto-based singer who describes her sound as 'ambient R&B', which might mean lots of things but for the time being let's just say it puts her in a similar sort of box to singers like Jessie Ware and Tiaan.
Artists complain about being put into boxes a lot, don't they? They don't usually mind when they're in a good box though. Ambient R&B is a good box.
Kiki had a song called 'Too Good To Be You' floating around earlier this year which was pleasant if mostly uneventful but there's an 8-track EP coming at the end of October and if it's all along the same lines as 'Be Alright' - a wistful, slight but rather majestic ballad - everything will be just fine.
'Be Alright' is a free download, by the way, so if you like it you can save it to your hard drive and listen to it in your preferred media player. You could perhaps even transfer it to your portable music playing device. It is literally up to you. - Pop Justice

"Premiere: Listen to Kiki Rowe's New Song "Broken""

We first introduced Toronto artist Kiki Rowe back in October when she unleashed the slow burning "Trust Issues" produced by DJ Mustard as she geared up for the Fall release of her self-titled debut mini album. Today, the singer returns with her brand of smoldering R&B in "Broken." In the same vein of The Weeknd, Kiki's brooding R&B boils through a lo-fi haze, simmering in a pot of heartbreak and glitch-ridden synths to rip the pain of a broken heart wide open. - Complex

"Kiki Rowe gives a great first impression with her debut mini-album"

I've always been one to try and find fresh new artists but I've never facilitated quite a debut like this. Today I have yet another Toronto-based R&B newcomer by the name of Kiki Rowe. She's new to the game, but has put the hours in to make a stunning first impression with her debut self titled project.

Besides vocalizing with great power, Kiki is also an accomplished pianist. It seems that all of that practice and patience can pay off when breaking onto the scene. Her new "mini-album" packs DJ Mustard, Maino, and Ivan Barias, adding a ton of diversity to the track list. I respect the ability to build up enough connection and support before even going public, as it shows her talent as an artist are the reasons we should be listening. Any fans of Frank Ocean should be enthralled by this release. It's R&B to the core, with the type of modern ambience that's infectious nowadays. - Earmilk

"NEW MUSIC: KIKI ROWE DEBUTS SELF-TITLED “MINI-ALBUM”"

A newcomer to the R&B scene, Toronto-based artist Kiki Rowe debuted her first self-titled “mini-album” on EarMilk.com yesterday. You’ve probably heard remixes of her single, “Be Alright,” floating around your dashboard. Following in the trend of electronified soul music that has permeated cyberspace recently, Rowe brings something fresh to the game. An experienced pianist, Rowe has the talent to back up her work.
This talent is what connected her to big wigs in the music industry before her name was even publicized. The album is totally cohesive despite a diverse cast of producers: DJ Mustard (“Trust Issues”) and Ivan Barias (“Too Good To Be You”) both snagged spots on this up-and-comers debut. The first track on the album, “Go Getta,” even features a rap verse from Maino. His heavy lyrics complement her airy, Banks-esque style. - RESPECT.

"Video: KiKi Rowe – Look Who’s Alone"

Mississauga, ON, artist Kiki Rowe has stopped by the site to drop off a new video for the single, “Look Who’s Alone”. From what we’ve been told, the video is the first of many that’ll surface this year. Once you listen to the track below, it’s becomes clear that KiKi Rowe has a bright future ahead and is steadily catching more attention with every release. Watch the video for “Look Who’s Alone” below and also download the single for free. - Boi-1da.net
